Knicks · Rosen Article on yesterday's press conference (page 1)
But is he wrong?
The future will have the answer.

He sure does, but the funny thing is, he is dead on, and I hate that guy.
people kill melo about his defense and clearly forget that KP leads the league in (falling for pump fakes at 7 3") commiting fouls, and willy is really really bad defensively.
That's why I said how can you change the defense with the same staff and players? clearly JH knows nothing about teaching defense or else phil wouldn't have had to incorporate Rambis as a defense guy, when his philosophy is guard the paint, and let everbody shoot 3's
He's also right about the presser being wishy washy.
I thought signing baker before Rondo was a jack ass move as well, not that I don't like baker, but you don't buy the rims before you buy the car
Are you expecting players who don't play good defense or have good ball movement to just magically develop it this year because they are young. As it stands right now, the Knicks are probably bottom 5 in both these categories. The Knicks real strength is shooting and even there, there's plenty of teams much better than them.

Has anyone Sid they think this is going to e a good club this year? Once Melo is moved this team's ceiling is 25 games.

Where do you see people thinking this team will be a winner next year? Who specifically has said that? We have some great young talent and i think we will be as good as last year, or close to it, but i haven't seen anyone say we will be a good team. But the difference is, expectations will be low, and developing young talent will be the focus. This is a league where even the great young teams aren't any good, so we can only judge this group on how they improve this season. Obviously they aren't good on either side of the ball. The objective is to get better in all categories.

You don't have to say your bitter, and your points don't make sense.

Its like you don't even hope your wrong. We get guys like you every year who think we are alls stooges that lap up the media and think the team is going to be good because of a press conference.
Let me tell you why we are not running around with our hair on fire:
1. Its july.
2. We don't get boners about summer league. Why? Its summer league.
3. Roster is not complete.
4. We don't know how Melo gets resolved.
If you ask me, we are lottery bound but then why be interested in the team? Cuz its our team. We are young and players have upside.
So don't go thinking you know better than most. We all know this team is very challenged.

What seems to get lost in all of this is the quality of our young talent. It's one of the best youth groups in the league. It's ny, so the assumption is something will always go wrong. But you put this group on a team with a great reputation, and the way its view is having a potential franchise player in KP, potential future all-star in Ntilikina, and 2 potential long-term starters in Hardaway and Willy. But because it's ny, it's Nitlikina will probably bust, KP will probably struggle to make big improvements.

1. It doesn't matter what month it is. The Knicks have regressed big time.
2. Nothing was mentioned about summer league.
3. The team is capped out and bad.
4. Every second Melo doesn't get dealt it hurts the Knicks.
What was the point of signing Tim Hardaway Jr if we are lottery bound?
Just because you are interested in the team doesn't mean you have to be joyful about it. It's your right as a fan to criticize the Knicks as much as you want.

Most teams that go young are more talented and aren't over extended cap wise. Meaning they have higher upsides and put themselves in position to draft higher again.
The Knicks did it backwards. Filled themselves with mediocre youth and overextended themselves to to do it.

Signing hardaway was meant to be a long term move. He's only 25. And I noticed you are new to the forum. Why even post here if you are so down on the team? You don't need to convince us how down you are, we get it.

It's my right as a fan to be down on the team. I think the team has a deserved it the way it's been run the last 15 years or so.
Knicks overpayed for Hardaway like he's going to put them over the hump. He doesn't help with the team culture seeing as he doesn't emphasize defense and ball movement personally. What's the point of Haradaway helping you score an extra 4-5 wins when you want a higher draft pick.
See if you get the higher draft pick you can sign the Tim Haradway later. Signing him before is doing things in backwards order which is Knicks 101 which is why there's no good reason to be optimistic.

It's your right as a fan to be down on the tram. I guess I just don't understand why you want to spend all this effort convincing us. In the 16 years I have been posting here, this is probably the most committed the Knicks have been to a long term plan and it's refreshing. We view the hardaway thing differently. That is fine. I see the value in it. But don't let our optimism ruin your good time lol.
