Now Kyrie demands a trade because he wants to be the man (btw, Porzingis?) and we should go ALL IN? If he was good on D, I would agree. But thats not the case and the trade demand alone sets the alarms on for Kyrie and his priorities.
I don't get why people keep citing kyrie before Lebron arrived. If anyone is paying attention to the finals he is a different player now and is clearly the most unstoppable guard in the league. We need to get this deal done.

I define "all in" as giving up KP. In the past we didnt have young players to build around, mostly retreads. We can afford to give up a draft pick(s) at this time. Even with his D, Irving is one of the best PGs in the league, and in his prime. Dont believe Frank will ever be on the same level as Kyrie, as a PG.

You might want to address the specific people you're talking about rather than just a generic "you guys." It certainly isn't everyone here (which is what it sounds like you're saying.)

He's the most unstoppable player in the sense that he either stops the opponent or stops his own team with a 6 for 20, 2 assist game. Kyrie is a good player - no doubt - but not a great one. The only thing that's meaningfully different from when he first entered the league is scoring volume.

There's a salary cap though. A solid starter on a rookie contract is better than a marginal all-star on a supermax contract (Kyrie in a couple of years). Then you have a solid starter already and if you've built a decent team, can attract an all-star FA too for the price difference in Kyrie's vs. the rookie contract. That's why teams are rarely giving up draft picks and the cost of one 1st rounder is like $20 or 30 mil.

We already drafted a player who will eclipse Kyrie's talent level in Nitty. We also have a Phil Jackson/Mills/Gaines designed team that will grow together and become next-generation contenders rather than this-generation wannabes.

How did he look in this year's postseason; at any point did he look like the best player on the court? Did you know that this past season, the Cavs were -120 in 635 minutes with Kyrie on the court and Lebron off?
I've seen enough of a sample size in his career through the eye test to know: 1) He's a franchise player 2) He's top 3 pg in the NBA right now 3) He's the best ball handler in the NBA 4) He's ice water clutch

If you're eye test tells you Kyrie is a better PG than Chris Paul, Westbrook, or Curry than you need to get your eyes checked.

I'm team VCoug when it comes to Kyrie. He's not just an empty stat guy; he's a not-too-bright (believes the world is flat), empty stat guy that we'd be asking to quarterback our offense. I'm tempted to not even want him at his salary, let alone giving up blue chip assets to get him. I think he'd have a similar effect to what Rose had this season i.e. not good.

Word is that his beef IS with Lebron.
We can't lose Frank in this deal. He would be able to help kyrie on defense if we play him in the same lineup as kyrie.

Rebuild? We just overpaid for a 25 yr old FA. Does he fit the rebuild? If so, why wont Kyrie who is also 25 and is a champion and is one of the most electric scorers in the league. A player other teams have to gameplan for. Kyrie is the type of talent we can only hope and wish we can draft nxt yr or the yr after and the odds are against it.
Highly unlikely that Frank will turn out to be as good as Kyrie. If he turns out to be half the playet kyrie is we will celebrate...phil is in montana, thank god, so im not sure why you are still attaching hom to this franchise. We just hired a new GM...
During the press conference they said they want young, athletic players...Kyrie checks those boxes and then some...
