I guess you failed to watch the playoffs last year and the Finals where he looked like the best player on the court.

I saw, though I never thought he looked better than Lebron. I also don't let the small sample size of a single postseason override everything else he's done. How did he look in this year's postseason; at any point did he look like the best player on the court? Did you know that this past season, the Cavs were -120 in 635 minutes with Kyrie on the court and Lebron off?

I've seen enough of a sample size in his career through the eye test to know: 1) He's a franchise player 2) He's top 3 pg in the NBA right now 3) He's the best ball handler in the NBA 4) He's ice water clutch

And he is only 25 and wants to come here. His best b-ball is ahead of him, not behind him.

If you're eye test tells you Kyrie is a better PG than Chris Paul, Westbrook, or Curry than you need to get your eyes checked.

Right now he is better than CP3 with more upside. The order goes: Westbrook, Steph, Kyrie

Like I said, you need to get your eyes checked. CP3 is a better shooter, gets more assists, fewer turnovers, more rebounds, more steals, and is a much better defensive player. There's nothing that Kyrie does better than Paul and there isn't a traditional or advanced statistic that's better than Paul's (except for being a slightly better FT shooter).

Throw your Advanced Metrics out the window: You are starting a franchise tomorrow: who are you taking? a 32 year old CP3 or a 25 year old Kyrie coming off an MVP type playoffs and Finals. If you poll the current 30 GM's in the NBA, 29 would say Kyrie.

This would be a great way to keep KP in NY, if they click. Knicks aren't going to get many opportunities like this IMO. Not until they start winning games.

Thank you, brother! It's NOT typical Knicks at all. Cavs are desperate--not us. Kyrie wants out! We have Melo to appease Lebron. Kyrie is not old like past trades--budding star aligns with rebuild with KP, THJ and Wily.

Cavs are desperate to trade Kyrie to the Knicks? Why, you guys realize they can trade Kyrie anywhere right

yea but LBJ makes the call on that Hahaha...we are in the drivers seat

Thought Frank couldn't be traded until December. Either two first round picks, or 1 pick and Frank might do it. I would be down with with either scenario.

Let the record state that kyrie Irving is 25 years old. Still entering his prime.

Let it also show that he can't run an offense and doesn't play any defense.

One thing I like about this report, Lebron isn't dictating everything he's involved in. I hate how the nba world revolves around Lebron. He is the most unlikeable non-knucklehead I've seen.

Do any metrics matter? Because CP3's traditional metrics all say he's a better player as well. You're also moving the goalposts now. And would we even have Kyrie for 5 years? I believe he's a free agent in 2. And Kyrie isn't coming off an MVP caliber playoffs/Finals; that was two years ago.

Will Frank every become Kyrie? We could only dream.

This. People are so funny. They would rather have a lotto ticket in a 1 in a billion draw to win 100 Million than 10 million guaranteed. Irving is a possible MVP. He is a proven superstar. And in his prime. You give them Melo and who ever else they want. Except KP.

Not in my eyes. Kryrie before LeBron came to Cavs, they averaged 30 wins.

Dude plays little defense. He is hurt a lot.

No trading, Willy, KP, Frank.

You have some good points but I don't think anyone in a NBA front office would agree with that. Look at it this way, If you had Irving in this year's draft, regardless od his age or minor injury concern, what number would he have been drafted?

I literally don't understand your NBA front office remark, what does that have to do with anything? And what wouldn't they agree with? That Kyrie doesn't get hurt? That he doesn't play defense?

I don't care where Kyrie would have been drafted this year, it would have zero impact on my not wanting to trade KP, Willy, Frank.

Was referring more to Frank not KP. But yeah, i would go ahead and throw in Willy.

"Front office comment" stating, IMO, that not one would agree with a suggestion that Irving is only a special player because of Lebron. But fair enough, probably the reason he wants to be the focul point.

This years draft analogy is for anyone that thinks Frank is anywhere close to Kyrie Irving in talent or a piece that should hold up a trade to acquire him. But most know I am not high on that pick. As always, we all have to wait and see who is right.

Disagree, Irving (including the flaws in his game) is in his prime, and too good to pass on over a couple of lottery tickets. Remember that the Knicks (the last two times) drafted below where they should have been given their place in the draft. Anything can happen.

Irving is a proven talent, you could play the NBA lotto for the next 5 years or more and not find a player as talented. Kyrie has the experience of playing with Lebron, a ring, add that with what Irving brings to the table, and that adds up to more than a couple of picks (or an unproven PG) with no guarantee of success.

The problem is he may be best suited as a robin. He was in the best possible situation. Playing along side arguably the greatest player of all time. There is a real possible downside to him coming to the Knicks as the franchise player. That we give up a kings ransom believing him to be of that caliber. Yet we don't have a Lebron on our team. Would he become a ball jock that plays little defense and doesn't make the team better as the alpha? That's a possibility. The price paid is extremely important.

Hope mills can prove me wrong

Kyrie's health is always a question mark and the Knicks and injuries..smh

I would like him, but he really is a score first pg, freezing KP out won't be a problem for him. Its pretty much a give and take.

I believe that Irving can be Batman, and KP robin, if Porzingis isn't an afterthought in the offense. I believe he would respect the fact that Kyrie is in his prime, not far from a ring, and wouldn't have a problem with that dynamic. As long as it isnt the same dynamic KP had with Rose.

Consider melo wants out, he's better than anything out of Houston, it does have a down side, but the upside can be huge.

Funny how some assume that all future picks will be great ones and players that will stay here for many years. Imo, Irving helps keep KP with tmay the Knicks past 2019, tanking and draft picks wont. Also, whats more attractive to free agents? A bunch of developing draft picks or KI and KP?

Vmart @ 7/21/2017 8:08 PM
The Knicks should not give up any first round picks. Even if Kyrie is on the Knicks it's lottery bound. Melo and O'quin should be enough. Not giving up the youth is what should be emphasized. This is temptation, do the Knicks have the balls to stick to the plan. Or do they screw it up again by trading the youth.

First off, if this is the guy I think it is, it's Bill Simmons, the op-ed guy from SI, ESPN, and the dude who got kicked off ABC(?) basketball coverage. He's a HUGE Boston guy and honestly strikes me as very similar to Coherd.

That trade is a joke and anyone who does a modicum of research can tell if a trade is allowed to happen. I dont think the money works on that deal, and if we are giving up that much we better be getting Warren in that deal.
