Knicks · Gallinari's Coach Goes Off on Gallo for breaking his hand in a fight (page 1)

Italy’s National Team head coach Ettore Messina spoke with Repubblica about Danilo Gallinari’s hand injury that will force him to miss Eurobasket.
Gallinari punched Dutch forward Jito Kok on face and while hitting the opponent fractured his own hand.

“He did something I can’t explain, unacepptable. An example of do-it yourself justice that disgusts me in society, imagine in sports” Messina said. “He apologized, he was mortified. But I did not want to talk to him. It is difficult to explain to a 30-year old man concepts as loyalty and responsibility” the Spurs assistant coach added. “His absence it will influence the team because we’ll be missing his talent. But sports is full of situations that are overturned thank to old concepts as humility, cohesion and wish to overcome their limits” Messina continued.

Ettore Messina will be a head coach in the NBA. He's part of the Spurs culture as a lead assistant and has had great success coaching in Europe. If we have to consider a new head coach, this is the guy I'd hire.

Gallinari didn't watch Bull Durham, should have swung with left

terrible punch. Learn to swing before launching. It was more like a sideways karate chop/flail. What a dope.

More Spurs love.........
Where was this was Scott Layden was their assistant GM?
We all know the best thing is to promote from within! When Knicks win a few rings, it will be "RAMBO TIME!"

Spurs culture? Why don't I see any success once they leave. Spurs culture is more like Tim Duncan culture. I don't see championship any time soon for them. But let look at Spurs culture. They have been know to be dirty. Bruce Bowen and Robert Horry. That's right they win so Spurs culture works but let's not make them out to be saints. They had their share of brush ups.

Spurs culture doesn't translate once someone from the staff leaves.
