I think this game against will set a direction where do we go this season, are we tanking team or will fight for playoff spot
This game will show how mentally tough and ready is KP and team.
will be fun to watch how KP plays against Melo, especially if Melo will play at 4
Truthfully I'm more concerened with westbrook in that game since he is the top dog there. I think that would be a big test for Frankie. I think KP will want to have a pretty big game though
Melo will probably drop 40 on us. He will try to show up the Knicks like its managements fault we never won anything.
Is melo following me? I used to think the same thing when Marbury went from AZ to NY. I'm kicking myself for not buying tickets earlier. Now it's too g to be tough to get a ticket.
KP should be able to shut Melo down if they are matched up one on one. KP should be able to bust his ass on the other end.
Westbrook can't be stopped but the real nightmare is stopping Paul George in the mix of all this.
Allot of things need to be sorted out. Beasley is our wild card. The center situation needs to be sorted out too.
Best thing to do to slow down Melo is make him chase his man through screens all game, wear him out, leave him as little energy as possible in the 4th. Take out the jump, in Melo's jump shot.
I dont believe this is the be all, end all, game. Would be more important if the Knicks were serious contenders, even then its just one game. More concerned with the team staying healthy, learning, developing chemistry.
No doubt must see TV but with a short preseason and both teams experiencing many changes I'd expect it to be sloppy with both teams players not sure the pace and roles and when to assume it. I doubt it sets the tone for either teams season.
If Melo makes me want to feel bad, he drops 8 dimes and grab's 15 rebounds then I'll sulk for 5 minutes.
Melo has PG13 and Westbrook. Two players better than anyone he ever played with on the knicks and perhaps with Denver.
He need only be Olympic Melo which is get hot and shoot the lights out in small stretches.
Perfect scenario is Knicks by two after the game is tied and they go up with a KP jump shot. Melo then misses from the elbow as the buzzer sounds and he smiles.
Knicks win half will say "We need to tank", the other half laments We lose and have Mooby Envy.
I doubt Melo will guard KP. I bet they'll let Roberson guard 4s like he did in the playoffs.
We are an east lottery team versus top 5 team in the west as game 1 and it's going to determine the whole season for us? Relax bro.
No one on this team is stopping Westbrook, and PG will have a field day.
I'm just hoping Melo doesn't get matched up against Kanter, because Melo will just love that. I guess Kanter will too.
