Hello fans
I did a quick scan of the main page and did not see a starting lineup post.
What are our thoughts on a starting 5?
Do the melo trade two start? Is it a three guard lineup with zing and Willie?
What about Lee our d and 3? Noah? Beasley the LeBron and OF stopper?
As you can tell. I have no idea. Ideally I'd like to see the Noah I expected start and go with willie off the bench. In the back court thjr should be starting. Haven't seen enough of the rookie pg.
What are some of your thoughts?
I think it's still to early to tell
I am not looking to hold anybody to their predictions. Just curious in how we would see it play out.
By mid season I see sessions, Lee and thjr with zing and willie starting.
I think if Frank N makes it into the starting line up, it's at the 2.
I hope he doesn't start - I want him brought along slowly so he can adjust to the minutes and not wear down and get hurt, though he is seemingly very brittle already.
I think the starting line up looks like this,
PG= Sessions
SG= Hardaway
SF= Thomas
PF= Willy
C= Porzingis
I think i heard Hornacek has 3 different lineups he wants to try and will pick the best one to start the season.
C Kanter or Willy
PF Porzingis
SF McDermott or Lee
SG Hardaway
PG Ntilikina or Sessions
It will end up being one of those combinations.
Coach says Noah is blowing them away with his condition and play.
Question as always will be durability.
My hopes are he is tradable. A healthy Noah can help a team go deep in a playoff run.
A healthy Noah and Ntilikina surprise can also get this team in the playoffs.
A meteor in Cleveland, flood in Boston, and Trump burns down the house in DC and knicks with a healthy team and
coach of the year job by jeff gets knicks in finals.
Add a west coast Tsunami, LinMElo, Pop loses his mind, CP3 goes down, Minny imploads and I win the power ball gets us a chip!!!

I think the center position is the only one that is questionable. Other than that, it will be Frankie, Timmy, Lee, and Zingers. Starting center and backup center/ power forward is up for grabs.

Lee and McDermott can shoot. But who can defend SFs better?
Lance can also shoot, and defend SFs better than both Lee and McDermott.
For example, who do you want guarding Lebron? Lee, McDermott, Beasly or Lance?
Lance should be the starting SF, because he's one of the few natural SFs on the team. Lee, McDermott are SGs.....
Would think you have to start Frank. Not like we got him for his offensive production. Let the kid play some D and learn how to play the PG position. Think Lee starts at 2, Timmy at 3, KP at 4 and Willy at 5. Maybe Kanter at 5?
Starters:
Kanter
Porzingis
McDermott
Hardaway
Ntilikina
I think Jeff tries to put out the best defensive lineup he could.
Noah
KP
Lee
Hardaway
Frank
2nd unit
Kanter
Beasley
Mcbuckets
Baker -
Sessions

I think that's what they'd like to see happen - first, that unit will score a lot and, second, it justifies some decisions (we got two starters for Melo and we drafted a starter as well). But it remains to be seen if that unit can defend decently.

I'd be surprised if Willy isn't in the first 10, but maybe.

Because Nalod still got high?

Willy absolutely suhucks when starting. As big a defensive liability Kanter is, he probably starts over Willy.
I have no faith Noah gets out of preseason healthy.
Funny no one has Baker cracking the starting 5. What a waste. Knicks had no need to overpay him. Any my 5 would be:
Kanter
KP
Beasley or Lance
THJ
Frenchy

Those are better odds than we had the last six years...

Baker is going to be a very good rotation player. I think his D will be crucial going forward. Nitty and Baker are going to help this team's Perimeter Defense.
Looks like
Porzingis at 4
McDermott at 3
Hardaway at 2
Are locks.
The 5 and 1 are up for grabs.
5 - Kanter vs Willy
1 - Frank vs Sessions

You don't think Lee has a chance to start, given his ability to contribute on both sides of the ball? He was impressive last night, and could beat out McDermott.
