I am very curious to see the dynamic with him on the floor. There were a few moments I swore a few of his teammates were not happy about him being on the floor, why I dont know. Could have been nothing, was just a vibe.
One thing I saw in preseason from him that was promising was an NBA handle and good passing... 2 things we desperately need right now.
Don't blink or you might miss it.

Nitty is a different type of PG. IMO he’s more in the mold of a Billups. Big, Long, Strong, High IQ and Defensive PG!

It may be premature - but if I had to hang my ass out there - we royally messed up by not taking DSjr.
Keep in mind that there's no one on Earth that would rather be proven wrong on this more than me, trust me, but I completely agree with you. No question about it.
Best analogy I can make is we drafted Kerry Kittles instead of Kobe. A solid player instead of a potential star.
Kerry Kittles played 4 yrs of college ball and was 22 yrs old when he came into the league. Averaged 16-3-3 and 17-5-2 his first 2 yrs until injuries derailed is career. He wouldn't have been Kobe but who knows what he would have developed into if injuries didn't derail him.
Frank is 19 yrs old and his body still hasn't matured to its full potential. But that's not even why they drafted him. They drafted him because they viewed him as a high IQ bball player with a great work ethic and high character to go with his physical potential.
There will be a point where Frank is developed physically, and you have Jeff raving about his IQ every time asked. That you only have to tell him once. Knicks are banking on as he matures physically they will have a big long guard with a physical advantage over most guards who comes packaged with a high IQ.
I think DSJ is going to be good. But I don't see a Kobe, or a Curry, or a Westbrook. I see a Kyle Lowry.
Hornacek was also talking about his wingspan and how he can play back on guys and they don't expect him to be able to make steals when he does. Would love to see him get on the court for an extended amount of time.
might as well play him 25-30 minutes, i mean its that or Jarrett Jack

Frank is going to be so much fun to watch this year, his defense and Pure pg skills are going to Steal the hearts and souls of the Knick fan base just like KP . Frank arm strong Ntilikina is the type of player that will bring this team together on both ends of the floor. Their will be growing pains, as expected in any 19 year old but I see frankie the pg future of this franchise. KP,Willy,Frank bless Phil Jackson

Yup! Just gotta have patience to allow these kids to grow and build more chemistry. They’ve barely played with each other so there’s so much more upside.

Buh buh but he was picked by Phil who we all know is senile and can only play the triangle. Plus he didn't dunk!

One of the things that Ntilikina does on D is to constantly disrupt the timing of the Opposing Offense. First he's pressuring the ball and slowing down the PG advance of the ball. This allows our defense to get set. Then in the Half court he's so active on the perimeter and as a TEAM defender he's paying attention to cutters and giving help. He gets his hands up and fights over screens. Overall it just leads to a better defensive presence.
Ntilikina is the kind of 2Way stud this team needs. Can't wait for Dotson to develop as well. He's got that 2Way stud quality as well.

He also seemed to inspire better overall team defense when he was in there. I noticed in the brief amount of time he has played that when he and Lee are in the game together good things happen defensively.

I'm a believer in the kid now. From what I've seen up until this point I was not impressed. Now with a full games worth of work I see his game and the intangibles he brings. He's under control and smooth. Kid sees the floor well on both ends. He's a pro basketball player.
Kid still can't create his own shot too much. Defenses can key in on that. Flipside to that is he's a decent finisher if they let him into the lane.

not being able to penetrate is a problem but if he can shoot the 3 at a 40% clip he can still be a weapon. I'm just glad I finally saw some hope for him.

I'm not really knocking him.... I'm just glad I can speak on him based on something real. I know he can see the floor on both ends and is under control. I expect nothing less from him. Young Fella is just getting started.

You guys are just awestruck...it's probably been a while since you saw a real point guard in a Knicks uniform, not someone who just gets assists because they're caught up in the air and they can't get their shot off lmao. All a fancy crossover does is get you from point A to point B. You can accomplish the same thing by utilizing screens and reading the defense.

He was a catalyst. There were several possessions where I was quite impressed (and surpised) w their passion and energy on D

Anybody say anything about fancy crossovers? What does a crossover have to do with creating a shot for yourself?
