Knicks · The 72 million dollar 4th option? (page 1)

Noah is back, and how is he going to fit in? I can't imagine him getting minutes over Kanter/o Quinn, and it would be foolish to play him over Willy. That being said, you know they aren't going to let him sit on the bench in perpetuity. I guess we will have to get used to our new (old) back up 4 because I guarantee you that's what happens

Noah cannot score but can facilitate and defend (supposedly)...
So defensive lineup of Kristap, Noah, Thomas, Lee, and Frank can be good for 10-15 min a game.
Especialy in 4th when we need stops.
Still 2 scorers on the court and it will be tough to score on them...

izybx @ 11/13/2017 12:03 AM
It would probably be a nice lineup for D, but would having LT on the floor instead be any worse? At least with LT they have to respect his shot...

Sounds like a pretty good go to for some D actually. Some of our best shooters from deep too.

Someone is going to get hurt. When they do, the rotation at the pivot will thin out some.

One thing Noah can do and does well, is "quarterback" the defense. He makes the right calls at the right times. He's shot physically and has lost two steps, but he knows what he's "supposed" to do on defense.

He's a bad contract and the Knicks have to try to make the best of the situation as it stands now.

When noah gets injured again will we be able to bring back Kuz?
Welpee @ 11/13/2017 6:16 AM
The question is can Noah get back to being close to the prime Noah now that (I assume) he's healthy and going to play fewer minutes and not be relied upon to carry the center position? Maybe less proves to be better in Noah's case. He has a lot to prove, has no grounds for demanding starter minutes - but I believe he can be helpful if he's healthy and comes with the right mindset similar to Lance Thomas. He may not play every game, may not get consistent minutes, but needs to be ready to contribute when called upon.

We let go of a seemingly popular player in Kuz to accommodate his return. We don't need him to rock the boat.

Knicks gotta be careful not to disrupt the chemistry.

At the same time is rather have Noah drop in for 10 minutes when we need him than Willy. Noah is not soft. He's going to go hard if he's healthy. Willy still plays so lax. If I wanted to play whenever I came in I would be a fireball. That's not the case with Willy

Dont agree with your analysis on Willy. Yes last game he looked sluggish i admit that. But the other times he produced. Its tough when you arent getting at least a few minutes per game

Probably Noah!
GustavBahler @ 11/13/2017 11:39 AM
Begley on ESPN said that the Knicks have made Noah available. Best slim chance of moving Noah is him coming back and playing like 80-90 percent vintage Noah for the regular season, and a playoff team gets desperate enough to take the last 2 years on his deal. That escalating salary he was given doesn't help.

Is that a joke? LOL
I'm sure now all the teams will be lining up with offers
GoNyGoNyGo @ 11/13/2017 2:05 PM
The team they play tonight could be interested in a healthy Noah.

Of course, LBJ and Noah hate each other so that will probably not happen. I could see Noah doing something tonight to LBJ as payback for his comments.

Play him to showcase him but not fair to KOQ or Kanter. They deserve their minutes. Every one of them.

Of course, trading Noah, who has three years remaining on a four-year, $72 million contract, is an option, though a highly unlikely one. New York has made Noah available in conversations with several teams since the end of last season, per league sources, but hasn't found a suitable deal.

Talk about good timing. Bet Noah is psyched for this one after everything he's been through.
