These 2018 tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations will lead to deficits then in 2020 Republicans will run on fiscal responsibility and the need to cut spending social programs i.e medicare, welfare and social security.
Trump is also planning to change the FCC rules which says corporations can't own national and local media outlets in the same market. The net effect of this is to have local Fox News and National fox news and Fox News like newspapers all in the same market.

True, thats our system. At the same time, some of the founding fathers warned anyone who would listen of the very real dangers of unchecked corporate power. This tax bill is the end result of us not listening. We can pretend its the fault of just one party, but this has been a tag team affair, each playing their part.
It goes back to the switch about 40 years ago from Stakeholder Capitalism, to Shareholder Capitalism. Reward the shareholders above all, never mind anything else. Works out great if you own enough shares of something to really matter. Thats not the case for most Americans because wages have been flat for the better part of 40 years.
Decent wages for the poor and middle class hurts the stock price you know. Not enough the market is at an all time high, never is. Thats what our founding fathers tried to warn us about.

I understand America's hypocrisy when if comes to how it approaches the world. At the same time, if you really do feel a bond to this country of ours, the current state of our country, and the incredible amount of suffering that it is inflicting on many millions of people, it should keep you from making sick jokes about the suffering of others.
The bill that was just passed is going to send a lot more people in the coming years to the hospital, or the morgue. Its unavoidable. Thats how bad this bill is.
Some communities have always suffered more in bad times, and they will get hit the hardest. This is all being done to make a handful of rich billionaires, who collectively already have as much wealth as half the country, to have even more. Its beyond a kink in the system. Its the middle ages, complete with a denial of science.

When you hate somebody you became like those whom you hate.

Your response on a personal level would be very similar to you finding out about the death of a loved one, and getting back, "big deal, people die every day, what about them?." Its "whataboutism". Its a way of inoculating yourself from giving a shit about anything.
I was equally bothered by the deaths of millions of Russians who died by the millions from the collapse of the Soviet Union, as well as the death of millions, who died from opiod abuse and suicide, following the great recession. I didnt care if they were Communists, they were people.
