Don't see Steve Nash just because of the size difference. Steve was able to leverage his size to finish in the paint. Guys like young...it's hard to project. Does he have just the right amount of size and explosion to finish in the paint? It's the difference between a Steph Curry and a Trey Burke.
Young is 6'2 and Nash is 6'3. Both have a slight build. Not really a difference there.
Nash was like 200lbs coming into the NBA. He was a bigger point guard. He was able to get the defender on his hip, turn around and shoot. I don't see those type of move from Young. Might be me, but Young seems shorter than 6'2". Curry is probably the best comparison. Draft.net had Bibby as a comparison, but Young looks like his mid-range game is more developed than Bibby's was at Arizona.
Bibby is actually a very reasonable comparison. We really can't compare him to mvp's like curry and nash. It's just not fair. But bibby is a fair middle of the road comp.

I like frank, but i like this kid better, he's avg double digits in assist which is almost unheard of in college
Kid has talent but he doesn’t look like he’s 6-2. Looks like he has short arms and is VERY light in the shorts. Kinda looks like a better passing Trey Burke. He’ll be interesting to watch and see how he plays the rest of the way.
Yeah, that's the thing that makes me wary. Workouts and the combine will help form a better picture. Plus, defense is also a huge issue. Need to see a lot more of him.
young wingspan = 6-2 curry wingspan = 6-0 frank wingspan = 7-0 lebron wingspan = 7-0
just saying...wingspan and short arms means shit if you know how to play bball, are able to use screens with your quickness and have unlimited range.
I think you're wrong on that Curry measurement, but I see what you're saying. But if you look at all the elite finishers, they're either extraordinarily athletic, tall, long or a combination of all three. Remember, Curry was a crappy finisher coming in. It took him years to be competent. It's also rare for a guy to be dominant from outside like that. There are more Burkes and Fredettes than there are Currys. Young needs to be vetted more to determine which end of the spectrum he falls.

There is plenty of that in the NY media and some fans. They refuse to see the good. Porzingis, O'Quinn, Thomas, Lee, Frank all part of the rotation and most of them key guys for us this year so far. Baker and Willy are second year players with rotation talent. Willy is not part of the rotation but the talent is there. They'll sweep all the good pieces and players brought in under the rug. Literally 7 of our best 10 players on this team have been brought in by the old regime. They're all playing well. Aside from Willy, all of them look like the can be rotation players on a good team. Willy has buckets of talent but needs to learn how to defend.

Exactly. Patience is virtue. We have a good foundation and these guys will only get better. lets take Frank for an example. We already knew his defensive instincts were off the charts but now for the past 10 game or so we are starting to see his offense starting to blossom a little bit compared to what it was earlier in the season. he is driving more and showing more willingness to shoot. By this time next year he is gonna be fun to watch on both sides of the court. I don't want to start trading picks and young players like we did for so many years. We are finally doing things right.
Nalod@ 12/21/2017 8:25 AM
These guys are the same age. One is in the NBA and getting better weekly, the other is 10 games into his scrub season and the flavor of the day. Thus fans love to “Oh man, I’d love this kid”....... What do we have to lose? A few key strokes? Few minutes of time for entertainment? I’lll let the vetting process take care of itself before I start jumping on the bandwagon. Nobody was excited about Nash coming out of Santa Clara. Anyone think Curry would be that good? My point, some things you just can’t tell or its too early. IF Knicks1248 is all over this kid, then its about him being wrong about frank and if he can find a better choice it some how obsolves him being incorrect. He said Frank won’t be more then a bench player. Way too much season left to circle jerk on the next knick savior.

This kid is better than frank hands down, and any scout, coach, gm, president, analyst will agree. Not even cp3 avg double digit assist in college. If there was away to draft this kid and keep frank, I would go for that, and I promise if both were on the team, frank would still be coming off the bench, but we still need to keep a veteran pg on deck. what sense would it make to have 2 young pgs. It would be like having Strickland and Mark Jackson, eventually one had to go.
Like I keep saying over and over, I have no problem with frank at all, but this kid is flat out better, and you know it. If you were the GM and had an option between both, and you pick frank over him, you would be fired on the spot and escorted out of the building. so kill the noise about I wanna get rid of frank, that's just dumb.
put it this way, if we had kp, and labron was coming into the league, and I said we should trade kp to move up draft labron, would you think I just wanted to get rid of kP..

Leagues aren't comparable and neither are the stats. The French league is considered a step up. Also, Young hasn't completed the season yet. Most scouts still have Sexton ahead of him. That should tell you that Young still has something to prove.

I think the closest comparison is the most obvious and it's not even close. This kid looks just like the next S.Curry. Now i'm not gonna go out and say he's the next Steph just cause that would be crazy and disrespectful to the work Steph has put in but the kids shot is like Steph's and he shoots it from 4-5 feet behind the 3 point line making it look easy. He doesn't do much if anything on the defensive end though. He doesn't mind passing it either. I like the kid a lot.

Oklahoma has played 10 games. YOur comparing his stats vs. Frank's NBA games? Last year Trae was in High school. Frank was playing against teams that are all better than the NCAA. Nobody said this kid is not a good player. But we gotta have fun with your comments because your just so arrogantly fun!
They played and beat Wichita State. Only ranked team they played. Lost to Arkansas who sits just beyond the top 25. So how does Ball State, Omaha or Portland state rank vs the celtic, lakers or THunder? You see those game or just the highlights? We all love highlights!!!

Its like your under the impresson sometimes that you fancy your self a savant master evaluator who actually discovers this guys. When you post youtube highlights, didn't someone already think there was an audience as such. Like you? So you have your own video producer who you instruct or do you take those off the internet?
