Knicks · Our possible Starting Lineup or Close out Lineup going forward (KP & Beas) (page 2)

I like what KP did today. Only 27 minutes--took shots that came to him--rebounded and dished. Didnt force but 1 shot. He doesnt need 25 shots.

I think the best team might be

C-KP
F Beasley
F Mcdermott
G Hardaway
G Frank N

back it up with

Kanter
Oquinn
Lee
Jack
Baker

LOL with Kanter and KOQ in the same lineup. Neither leaves the paint to guard anyone and both would clog the paint on the other end of the court, and Because Jack and Baker are not 3 point threats you could just sit back and watch calamity happen.

And the other lineup would wear KP out within a few games forcing him to play C.

Are these things thought out before they are posted?

Brooklyn doesn't have a normal rotation and that's why Knicks could get away with Beas and KP sharing minutes.

You could stagger players in and out f any line up. You could start Kanter for 3-4 minutes. But I think the ULTIMATE team for the Knicks is based on KP at C.

I like that lineup too. But KP better become a better rebounder.
I believe in short time we'll be substituting Burke for Jack on the second unit. He fit right in out there today.

It forces KP to rebound and Beasley is a solid rebounder too. You stagger players in and out--but ultimately with this group the Beasley KP combo might be the best.

This would be suggestion, but no way the front office would allow it. or would Hornachek have the balls to try it. He'll just stick with status quo.

Noah/Porzingis/Hardaway/Lee/Jack
O'Quinn/Beasley/McDermott/Lee/Frank
O'Quinn/Beasley/McDermott/Hardaway/Frank or Burke (depends on how Frank plays)
Porzingis/Beasley/Thomas/Hardaway/Frank or Burke or Jack

Noah starts - 7-8 minutes each half.
O'Quinn comes in for Noah - 7 to 9 minute stretch.
KP closes the half as the C.

Beasley comes in for KP - usually plays the entire half out like a 6th man would,

Frank comes in for Jack, but if he stinks or isn't aggressive, insert Burke in for Frank. Will get Frank fired up and also give us an attacking guard. Close the half with the PG that is best playing at that moment - Burke Frank or Jack.

Kanter is given the Willy treatment a few games. Lets see how we do. If Beasley or Porzingis are injured or anything like that, and we need scoring, we use Kanter in the rotation as we'll need his scoring.

I think its quite obvious noah is not in the plans!

KP doesnt need to start C but I think the team might be at its best with him at C. Its not condemning any other player--but we can fit a more mobile unit with him at C.

can't wait till noah is traded, perry and mills sure are not giving anyone away.
i am surprised noah hasn't asked for a trade yet

Ira @ 1/16/2018 9:49 AM
In order to take advantage of Beasley's scoring ability, we need to play KP at center. Getting THJ back with Beas in the lineup and Burke coming off the bench should revitalize our offense.

I like McD off the bench with Lee starting at the 2. It gives us more athleticism and better d than having McDermott starting.

No one is going to trade for Noah is he's not playing.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they trade Kanter for a longterm asset and start Noah.
Once Noah shows he can still play and is healthy, suddenly he goes from unmovable to possibly traded in the right deal.

I still think Noah is here until end of next season, after which you can stretch provision him.
In the meantime why not use him? He has actually been a net positive, almost everytime I've seen him play any significant minutes.

It's not at all like Willy. Willy has actually looked lost, out of sorts. without confidence.
Noah OTOH has looked like a player we could use more than once. Horny is FO yes man. When Phil was in charge, all about Phil's offense. Now Phil's gone, he does what Perry/Mills want. He has to grow some balls. He has a big man that can run the floor, rebound, pass, defend, set good picks. You got to use a player like that.

Noah knows there's no way to trade him. His contract is unmovable so a trade request would accomplish nothing. And i'm not really confident there's many teams that can use him. The NBA has changed and Noah is stuck with a game that just doesn't fit.

Agree on a trade. No one touches that contract with how he little he has done in the last year and half.
Disagree on the latter.

Players like Noah for a veteran min, easily get a job.
The type of bigs that have lost a job in the NBA are post up guys or guys that only block shots.

In Noah's case he passes (averaged over 5 assists a game multiple seasons), sets screens, rolls, rebounds, defends and runs from one end to other end of the paint, fast. So it's not that he doesn't get a job, he would IMO if he were a free agent.

you mean the noah of 6-7 years ago?
Jmpasq @ 1/16/2018 7:34 PM
Its to bad teams can't eat salary in a trade like in baseball. Like we trade Noah and we are stuck with 10 million of his cap hit and someone takes on 7 million a year of his salary
