Howard is still Howard... unless they trade him I can't see Willy playing over him.
Cody Zellar is playing well for them, can't see them benching him.
Frank the tank plays up and down but I can't see him getting benched for Willy.
So what is Willy going to do? He's in a worse situation that he was in NY.

Seems Willy had an attitude problem which is why we got rid of him. Still, the fate of the players Perry said were our building blocks at the start of the year:
Willy: traded
KP: Season ending surgery
Baker: Season ending surgery

Not every organization is like the Knicks they don’t throw a player they acquire into the game. Just maybe they want Willie to get acclimated to the system they play get few practices in. Just because Willie wanted off the Knicks does it make him a bad guy. He wanted out because they made a commitment to O’Quin and Kanter was their saving grace in the Melo deal. You knew that Kanter was going to get the opportunity right off the bat.
People here acting like Willie asked off a championship caliber team here. Willie wants an opportunity and make make money it works hand in hand. Besides you knew Willie was in the dog house with Hornaceck for his quote of Hornaceck that became public. That KP was playing like a “pussy” quote must have irked Hornaceck.

We sold low, but he could go lower. You make assumptions in hindsight.
Fans assume we ruined him. Fans assume players get dealt at peaks or lows like stocks.
To a large extent last season Willy exceeded his expectation but then he fell back to what was his norm, a low second rounder stashed in Europe with some hope. Instead of “what went wrong” we should be looking at “what went right” to bring him to that elevated level. Obviously not a level sustainable. INstead we take that high water mark and ratchet to his norm.
Again, we in the blame game. Who is at fault? Willy? Knicks? Perry for saying “Will is part of the future”?
Could he get back “Up there again”? I dont’ see why not. Maybe Knicks were hoping this to be the case for next year. He wanted out. In time we might have sold high. Or low if he returns to form.

Teams know whats going on. He had lots of time to get in shape this season. Its February!
Did not want to go to Gleague either and get minutes. We might not have gotten a better deal than what we got.
I would say that most people who need a wake up call generally do not respond to it. We'll see how Willy does with his. I would have liked to have received more value for him, but the fact we didn't tells you what the deal was, not what some reactive uninformed poster squeals about. If Willy wants to get on with his career he has an opportunity, but frankly I see that he was a dog for us this year. Good riddance.
He will end up back in Spain.
He will get paid better in Europe.
And he needs a couple of years to mature.
He may come back NBA later but it was clear he is not ready.

You can’t deny that Willy had a poor offseason: didn’t seem to add to his game and didn’t seem to get his body better. Couldn’t beat out KOQ or Kanter for minutes, didn’t seem to build on his rookie year.
He makes a grea Paella!!
Willy is learning that not all teams have the same amount of low level talent as the 2016/17 NY Knicks.
On that squad he was an All Star, on other teams, Sunday league.
He will be alright though. KId has talent and he just needs to keep improving.

Another reason could be he has an old school style of play. Knicks front office may want to move away from that, especially with Kanter being similar but better.
