Beasley, Mikal Bridges, KP, Burke and Hardaway???
I mean mix it up how you like... the point is we kinda have the center, point guard and shooting guard set. We are two premium starters away from putting out a competitive starting 5
Unfortunately, that center position is in flux, and our starting PG is best suited for the sixth man role. We need a stud SF, hopefully from the draft, and significant progress over the summer from last year's draft picks(Frank, Dotson). And what about rebounds? We may be farther away than we hoped for...
So burke is avg 22.5 ppg, 9ast, shooting close to 50% in 34 min since he got the nod to start and he should be coming off the bench..Dude are you nuts.
under a better coach, He's a lock to be our starting PG next season, and i have no problem with that
My only concern with Burke is that he gets shot happy and used to slack on defense (but he has been better on defense in NY). That was his problem in Utah, albeit he was not as efficient a shooter in Utah. KP is going to need shots, and Burke is going to have continue to facilitate more so than focusing on scoring. But I do agree that he has shown enough to be a starter. He just has to keep bringing it defensively and only take good shots and keep the team involved.
You can be shot happy when your shooting 50% and dropping dimes.
If burke was on MDA's team, he would be a all star without a doubt
burke hardaway backcourt not so special...burke frank backcourt...could be very special, especially if we draft a SF who can run as fast as a guard.
Burke needs to tighten up his defense. In defensive real plus minus, he ranks as the 95th point guard in the league (out of 103). In a Frank/Burke backcourt we have one guard who can't score and another who can't play defense.

If everyone is healthy, 35 wins, nowhere near good enough defensively. Burke is alright but would be better off as a guard off the bench. If we have a smallish ball dominant PG like Burke, Frank would need to start at the 2.

We don't have enough talent on the court.... that's why I'm saying if we add 2 premium forwards to this mix we'd actually be pretty good... all of our guys are too inconsistent because that are being over used... adding 2 quality guys to that starting mix and pressure is relieved. We're very close to achieving this
Yeah this is basketball, not the NFL. It only takes a couple of quality additions to make a HUGE impact and change the dynamics of how a team plays.
unless we're adding a Lebron or Michael Jordan talent- then we're still going to suck and continue to stink for the next few years.
We're not 1 or 2 players away unless the 1 or 2 are Lebron/MJ type talents.
So we're not even 2 good players away from being in the playoffs? Wow so maybe we should just drink a gallon of bleach as we jump off the Brooklyn bridge
define good player?
And yes - because Frank is at least 2-3 years away from having an impact.
KP is likely out most of next year and realistically a year or two away from having a main impact.
Not jumping off a bridge - but realistic about how far away we are.
We are at least 2 starters away from being 6-8 seed.

A healthy KP and Burke playing at this level is probably a playoff team. We were close even without Burke.

I think Frank, Burke, and Hardaway is a good guard rotation no matter who starts. All bring something different to the table. Play each 32 mins per game, with Frank shifting between both guard positions depending on who he is playing with. Getting the right SF and big man next to KP is the key. If we draft Mikal Bridges, we will need to figure out who that big man is. If we draft Wendell Carter, maybe we can steal someone like Kris Middleton next summer as a free agent.
2019-2020
F/C Carter
F/C Porzingis
SF Middleton
G Ntilikina
G Burke
6th Hardaway
I don't think very good, tbh, unless we get a great two way SF, cough, cough, Kawhi
The tourney really pumped up Mo Wagner's stock
I would think a lineup of:
- Burke
- THJ
- Kawhi
- Zinger
- Wagner
If we want to avoid pipe dreams, maybe we could get Aaron Gordon and Mario Hezonja (meh), and make KP use his size down low:
- Burke
- THJ
- Hezonja
- Gordon
- Zinger

I agree with the above message.

Re Pipe Dreams id rather have Hardaway as 6th and a Sg Start.
Picky me. Avoiding the pipe dream I’m fine with the lineup yet again choose Frank over Hardaway as a starter.
