Mills hiring Perry was out of the box thinking. If we went by tbe past, Allan Houston would have been named GM. Perry has already proved his worth in the Melo trade. All Im asking as a fan, is to let him do his job. Let him pick the coach.

I want Perry to have massive imput. Ultimately he reports to the team president.
It will always look like a Mills hire but if Perry objects they should go in a different direction.
Craig Robinson should have input. The coach they hire will implement a big part of a players development!
Do the Princeton guys rule? Is it a valid hire or a form of nepotism. Really nobody here can validate this.
If there is any validity that Blatt is denying he interviewed for the knicks job then we need not worry about Mills hiring hid Buddy. We want him to hire his "Bud"!!!!!!
It just seems like such a high risk for mills to select his friend as the next head coach after interviewing 10 other guys. if he fails, mills is done.
If he hired Bud, and it doesn't work, he still may get fired, but you can't say he showed favoritism

The assumption is "favoritism", but really Blatt is qualified. Perhaps more or less depends on your prism. The thing is if there is a friendship and its a basis of mutual respect for a valid talent and the synergy is there it could be a start of a "Culture" that feeds upon itself. If its favoritism based on "Favorism" its toxic to all those around them that are working hard and trying to win. Its disrespectful. I totally get this and yes Mills has to be careful but outside of Bud there is a parity of the remaining candidates to some extent.
Igor named as coach of Suns.
Moratorium must be off. Knicks must be next up.
THings way to quiet today. Waiting for the "Press conf. scheduled for Monday thing.
last night, it seemed like Fizdale had traction.
I'm ok with him. Younger than Budz - he may relate better. Riley tree too.

Knicks: Ironing out contract details
On a related note am I the only one irritated that the public needed to know just how many candidates were interviewed?
I'm all for diligence but why not do it in quiet. Instead, you have "hey coach X, you're one of 10 or 11. We really want you badly...."
seems like it was more to create a perception of diligence for the public than it is for playing to a coach's ego and trying to convince him to coach your team (which to be honest will be a challenge)
I still want Bud.

Delicate balance for any team and doubly so for the Knicks because of their media counterparts.
Don't leak any details and you have the press and fans complain that nothing is getting done and the FO are idiots. Too much and WTF by everyone.
Also, there is some fair play and exchange going on between FO and media folks like Woj IMHO; each gets something out of the exchange.
Also, the candidates themselves (and their agents) probably want to get their names out, so why not let Woj and the like know on the FO's terms.
We know the list and vague front runner candidates. What's the harm?

I hope that was done to create leverage during negotiations. Keeps teh candidatres guessing so they can't start calling teh shots on their contracts if tehy really want the job. If they don't want the job and just the money, probably helps weed those guys out as well.
