Knicks · With Cs and Sixers there is no hope (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 5/15/2018 10:37 PM
The life of a jets mets and Knicks fan. It's better to be honest with yourself-- and uconn seems like it headed off a cliff-- my only bright spot. I will be long gone before these teams are serious -- I accept that.

Knicks got stuck with a shtty owner and that's that

Some of us knew that the crazy threads were an early symptom of posteritis. Im sorry Briggs, we'll miss you! "Amazing grace....."

you're right. But, how about we aim to be competitive. I don't need a championship, but obviously I would like one - thank you Mets & 1986- at least I was alive and almost an adult for that.

Baby steps, but other franchise fans are just as screwed or spoiled.

I would be happy with Don Chaney 37 wins, a team that gives 100%.

Please no starphuchs. Try to incrementally build something. Collect assets, keep cap flexibility.

I'd rather have Ron Baker vs. Carmelo Anthony.

And yes- I think it's fair to wonder if we will in our lifetime see any of these franchises win a championship again (I'll toss in my Islanders for good measure)

Teams defy expectations all the time, no reason it cant be the Knicks, if the right people are in place. We seem to be moving in that direction.

Way too fatalistic, unless you are not long for this world.

Would make a lousy Harry Potter book. "We'll never beat Slitherin, that damned hat always gives us lousy draft picks!".

It aint over till Isiah comes back for bad judgement day, lol.

smackeddog @ 5/16/2018 12:57 AM
You started a thread 2 weeks ago saying no one could beat the sixers, and they got beat, so excuse me if I don't buy your doom prophecy
Vmart @ 5/16/2018 8:17 AM
I don’t need a championship what load of crock. Losing has taken a toll on everyone here.
dacash @ 5/16/2018 8:52 AM
Again!?!?!!!!??? Damn guy, the sky ain't falling an acorn just hit your head.

You now noticing this, the bar has been set at ankle level for some of these fans and management.

Lets just drive at 50 MPH (speed limit 70)in the right lane so we don't crash, that's managements approach.

what briggs is saying indirectly is that he is confident that the FO office of his beloved team don't stands chance against the FO for the sixers and boston

Knixkik @ 5/16/2018 9:15 AM
Who cares what Philly and Boston are doing. Just need to focus on Knicks getting competitive again. Philly is still a team built around injury prone players. A lot can change from year to year. Briggs tends to panic in the moment each day.

Another "woe is me" post?

newyorknewyork @ 5/16/2018 12:11 PM
There was never any hope until GS start to break down.

I can see Philly getting the injury bug and never reaching its full potential. That's a possible outcome.

Boston will lose Smart and Rosier in FA eventually. Hortford is 31. Maybe they miss on some picks and lose some FAs. Eventually have to supermax Irving along with Haywards deal as well as max Brown and Tatum.

Things happen. All Knicks can do is work towards putting themselves in the best position they possibly can. So if things don't break right for any of these teams they can capitalize.

fishmike @ 5/16/2018 12:44 PM
more stupidity... there is no hope for every team in the bottom 20. You continue to build and develop.

Are the Cs and Sixers preventing us from scouting, drafting and signing players?

nykshaknbake @ 5/16/2018 3:52 PM
No hope for next year, but maybe we can be a good team in 2 to 3 if things break right.
Nalod @ 5/16/2018 4:11 PM
Year or two ago we thought Cav's were invincible.
Toronto was the Bomb all year long.
Chandler @ 5/16/2018 5:11 PM
and everyone knew Utah would suck losing Hayward for nothing, etc.

What we need to see is continued growth from Frank/Burke (sorry no such illusion for mudiay but would be happy for him to prove me wrong), THJ playing in a framework and more consistently like while he was at Atlanta

ANd some surprises, e.g. Dotson or rookies

doomed @ 5/16/2018 7:24 PM
4-5 years from now KP will still he in his mid to late 20s and so will frank. Relax.

The knicks are finally building. Not built. Building. As in it’s a work in progress.

In about 3-4 years, If the knicks are patient, they will have a super star KP and a bunch of good to very good athletes all under the age of 25. That will be our time. Not now. For now? Suck it up.

And this is coming from someone named doomed. So you know their is hope.

jazz74 @ 5/16/2018 9:22 PM
well, one thing i know is that off seasons are so unpredictable. the past few years, there were moves that turned the nba upside down so you never know. celtics and sixers are the cream of the crop now and will be outstanding for the next few years at least. however, our time isnt until 2020 anyway and we have to play our cards right. porzingis must come back healthy and he has the potential to be a top ten player. it will be easy to build around. again we wanted this. a true rebuild. we have to show that we are patient a little more. when that happens, naturally there will be dominant teams until then.

We do not give up on the season before it is played...

Doom and gloom......I feel sorry for those that actually listen to you or follow you. I'm sure they are going crazy right now with these up and down post. Briggs.....we had no chance once we traded Ewing. Did u bury your head for over 20 yrs. Drown yourself in fear and depression...and doubt. That's a terrible way to live each day.

I will give you sone advice.....lower your expectations. With more unachievable goals.
