Knicks · Bring back "The Beas" (page 1)

Lost in all the hoopla of who's the better PG, and does KOQ and Kanter opt out, is the status of arguably our best player last season. A good article on his production for the season. He gets my vote for a spot on the roster.

Sure, why not. He doesn't need to be dependable. We're not looking to go into the playoff next season and we need some form of entertainment. Post the petition and I'll sign it.

Too bad Fiz already seen "The Beas" show

He definitely filled a role for the Knicks and they needed him. There is another thread where Perry/Mills are being criticized by some for giving Bease a 1 yr league mini deal. Apparently there is some phantom two way player that was out there that would sign a one year deal for minimum money that they missed out on.
The Miami/Fiz thing is interesting. One of the two guys must not like how things went when they were there together.
Marv @ 5/26/2018 8:26 AM
hell no on beas.

this season should be totally focused on player development. don’t give kristaps any notion of hurrying his return in the hunt for a phantom #8 seed. why give a guy who’s turning 30 and is a multiple washout in this league minutes over troy and mileskal

The Beas show might have been the highlight of the season. I hope Fiz and his entire staff watched it. The Troy Williams interview is a classic.

Why do we want the Beas? We're not winning anything this year and we should be playing and developing younger players while achieving a very high lottery pick.

Beas won't stop the tank, only help it. He'll provide support me 30 point games to keep things interesting from time to time. I don't see him taking away anyone's minutes. His bad defense alone will ensure that minutes will be up for grabs.

It still amazes me how so many people wanted Melo gone because he such a one dimensional player by always going ISO Melo every time he got the ball and played zero defense but now people want Beasley back who was the exact same player last year. I really don't care if they bring him back or not since KP will be out and we're not gonna be a good team with or without Beasley as long as he's not around when we actually have a good team. I just don't want his ISO ways rubbing off on any of our young guys.

Beasley is a back up, and costs 1/20 the price of Melo. He comes off the bench for some offense. He plays a role.

jskinny35 @ 5/27/2018 1:17 AM
Ok either way. He was Melo lite but I did like that he made his moves quickly and didn't dribble around and jab step for 17 seconds before shooting... Cheap deal then why not?

And of course i get all that with the salary each is getting but every time he touches the ball he puts up a shot and you can't play winning basketball with those kind of players. K.Durant just got called out on this by S.Kerr. Now of course we're not gonna be winning many games next year anyway but this stuff can still rub off on the younger players which we absolutely don't want happening. I wouldn't be mad if we brought him back for next year since we're not gonna be good anyway but it wouldn't bother me at all if we didn't.

Yep he was a better ISO player with no effort or care about the defense, we should be so happy about that...lol

Beas got to ny a year late. He missed out on the guy that gave out Ntc, trade kickers and overpaid for players he wasn't competing with other teams for.

Sleepy Beas can move on. He was great. No need going forward.
Do him and Fizdale have history together in Miami?

Who was that guy again?

GustavBahler @ 5/29/2018 11:29 AM
Mixed emotions about Beas. When he's in the zone, Beasley is one of the best bench players in the league. When the team looked lost, often Beasley kept cool.

Its those moments when Beas drifts, that hurt the team. Fizdale has a history with Beas, knows when he is headed in the wrong direction. Would know him better than most coaches. If he feels that he can get the most out of him, I would be on board, as a fan.

If Fizdale believes its better to pass on making an offer, no issue with that either.

this. If there is a chance of a long term fit do it. Zero reason for Beas to come back.
