You know Pops is going to insist on Frank, probably salivating at the prospect. Id offer Baker as well, would be a good fit in that system if he ever decides to shoot the ball.

Frank? He's going to insist on KP to start.
The Lakers have a ton of really good young pieces to trade and LA is where he wants to go. He's gonna end up with the Lakers and then Lebron or P.George will go as well and then they'll trade more young pieces for a veteran guard or something. All these players want to be in LA where most live in the off season so Magic Johnson doesn't have to do anything but sit back and wait for all these players agents to start calling him. I wouldn't doubt if some of these stars have already talked and have come up with a plan on how to get to the Lakers.
I honestly don't blame Kawhi for wanting out. I know Spurs are this model franchise and all, but seems like they really screwed this one up.
1. They mistreat/misdiagnose Kawhi's injury and are unwilling to accept fault or support him in considering other treatments/diagnoses to even rule out any other possibilities.
2. When he is forced to do this on his own without their support, they throw him under the bus as being unwilling to play or be part of the team. Pop clearly had major personal things going on as we learned, and no doubt he seemed to take a lot of that out on Kawhi by showing how distant the team is from him and decision to be away from the team. Pops will get a pass, and probably deserves to be cut some slack, but most coaches would be criticized for treating players this way.
I believe at 26 I can build a championship caliber defensive team around KP/Frank/Kawhi and would give up anything on the current roster as well as a future 1 or 2 to secure that core. I can add scoring along the way. I need 3 guys who can wreck and opposing offense. Frank was a defensive wiz as a 19 y/o rookie and the best P&R defender in the league, KP is one of the best rim protectors and KL is DPOY. KP/Frank are 2-3 years away which puts KW at 28-29 (the old guy of the crew).

Im assuming that KP is off the table..
I would give up everyone except Frank and KP. The spurs had their own young PG in Murray, so they might not demand Frank. Give the 9th pick, the 36th pick, and maybe a 2020 1st rounder and Burke and Dotson.

Interesting that both teams have new front offices now.
Rumor has it that Pop will also hang it up in 2020. Wonder if this is also one of the reasons Kwahi wants to go knowing Pop won't be there for the long haul.
Ingram, Kuz, & Hart probably ends up being the deal. Add in the #18 which can net them Khyrie Thomas. Pop can coach them up for 2 yrs for the next guy/girl?.

Then you dont really want Kwahi...

If we want the Spurs to engage us on the phone, we would have to begin with KP....Lets not forget, Kwahi, is a top 3 talent in the league...

Pass then. The idea is to find the right wingman for KP. We would still be in the same boat with Kawhi.
How long is Pops really staying? Some here said 2020. It would take a season or so to get new players to play the Spurs way, so to speak. Then Pops is gone, and who knows who stays.
If I were the Spurs Id ask for a nice haul of picks, so Pops can develop the next generation of Spurs as his final act.

but SA has 0 leverage. and for that matter if Kawhi wants to be in LA (or NYC) all of the other teams in the league will see this like PG situation. You might be trading assets for a one year rental who seems inclined to walk.
Kawhi doesn't want to be there -- like Kyrie in Cleveland. The threat is he walks for nothing in FA
KP is absolutely off the table
