You can have a 3/4 cerebral-type player isolate, drive and kick - but he doesn't seem to have that quality (neither did Melo). Hope he develops his motor and defense, but based on what we know right now - should have taken Mikal Bridges hands down. Plays D, can shoot outside and would have given us 3 2-way players (KP, Bridges, Frank) instead of now needing more defensive help. Would have even went with Lonnie Walker over Knox...
Briggs is never right lol.

and he rose in our draft radar after playing 1 on 1 vs 6'5" Miles Bridges? Remember Shump had a great day shooting at his workout... we drafted him instead of looking at the whole college career where he wasn't a strong shooter. I see Charlie Villaneuva but will hope for Rashard Lewis

Time will tell but this is the first pick we've made in a while that I haven't been optimistic about. I wish we would've hedged a bit and/or been able to hedge a bit with this pick.

I haven't seen enough, was hoping he was going to be ok, but if he is low IQ then I can see that being an issue.

he is only 18

It was nice knowing you Fiz.

I don't mind the pick so much - I wasn't sold on the Bridges "brothers". I didn't think they were above and beyond what we might be able to get out Dotson and the slew of 6'5/6'6" wings on our roster.

Kevin Knox has legitimate size as a 3 or 4, though his body needs work. I'm a little worried about the skinny legs - he'll likely get pushed around. But hey, Kevin Durant got over that.

He looks like a confident shooter, so if anything, we have a player with the tools to get off a 3 vs anyone, run the floor, and be a pain in the neck defensively. At 18, he's 6 or 7 years away from his best basketball.

If we have a Tobias Harris clone, I think we'll have done pretty well.

Yet in that same draft nobody thought much about Jimmy Butler until the Portsmouth Invitational and he gets drafted with the last pick in the first round and becomes an All-NBA guard, so it works both ways. The bottom line is every player's situation is different.

I see Austin Daye but not as skilled.

Hard Knox Life!!!!

He’s a Tabias Harris clone. Not a bad pick.
jskinny35 @ 6/21/2018 11:16 PM
It's not about how good he could be - nobody really knows the future... he could develop intensity and play strong defense as he gets older. With the information we have at this time, he doesn't appear to play strong defense, likes to isolate and people have questioned his motor. I'd stay away from that just like a back injury... especially when there were defensive-minded players available. Think we should have looked at what a player did all year in college and not go on how he outplayed the 13th pick who is 4-5 shorter then him... I personally prefer hard working, defensive-hungry players that don't need to work on "playing hard" - that doesn't seem like Knox now, but will root for him and hope he gets there one day
nykshaknbake @ 6/21/2018 11:21 PM
Dangerous pick. But then at 9 it usually is. Question will be can he play the 3, since we are adverse to playing KP at the 5. Seems raw and unmotivated if he isn't being featured. Don't have a good feeling about this one.

Bad night over all. Mikal was right there, bad first draft by this crew

Let’s just hope this wasn’t MDA-Jordan Hill giddy

Shump and Hill got picked based on workouts in front of Dantoni. Sad times.

Bridges was drafted @ 10 and essentially traded for the 16th pick in the draft...I wasn't completely sold on Bridges.

jskinny35 @ 6/21/2018 11:49 PM
Bridges would have been a great pick if he stayed with the 76ers - not sure where he will play in Phx with TJ Warren, Josh Jackson and Booker getting all the minutes at the 2/3 spots...

I think that is awesome.

We still have a ton of work to do.

Knox hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential. Already has a sweet stroke and ideal size n length. This pick is about MAX POTENTIAL!!!

Knox has the same potential for stardom as Porter. I like his size with today's positionless ball.

I think you're spot on. I took a second look at him recently and thought he was a reasonable risk. In listening to his interview after being picked I was really impressed by his intelligence (Ayton, OTOH, sounded silly). I think the scouting report of him being lazy may be manufactured or exaggerated. lots of posters keep repeating it without very much evidence except an innuendo on a scouting report written by a gerbil.

I think the Knicks have a player.

...AND a 2021 first round pick via Miami, which isn't anything to scoff at if it's lightly protected. That's a worthwhile proposition IMO. It opens the door to a number of different possibilities.

Knox is beast, I feel the steal of this draft . Kentucky head coach J.C. had more positive things to say about KNOX Then CAT who we all know went number one. One thing no one is really talking about is his elite ability put the ball on the floor and create off the dribble, run the floor, and finish at the rim, he’s 18 but sky is the limit. The way he can take over a game single handedly at his age I think this kid is a future star!

Damn, just hit me the Suns got Ayton, Mikal and that PG from France who is supposed to be pretty good. They possibly landed 3 lotto talents
