Knicks · So, who plays the 4? (page 1)

Knicks still don’t have a quality PF on the roster other then Pirzingus who will miss most to all of the season. We have the two 2-way players from last year as restricted FA options, (Hicks and the doofy dude with the hot mom), but neither can start and are barely rotaion players at this point. Beasley could be an option to re-sign on a one year deal but he isn’t a starter either. Thomas is more of a wing and he isn’t very good most of the time except if you consider tangibles a legitimate starting caliber quality. Most of the time he blows though. There’s always the nba veteran min scrap heat FA’s unless Kanter opts out, in which case, should the Knicks spend their cap coin on a FA?

Not sure how the Knicks are going to solve this problem unles they plan to play small all year.

Honestly....who cares. Next year is a chance to play young guys...lose a lot and get a top 5 pick.

Don't want to add short term players that take time from the younger guys for the sake of some meaningless wins.

Likely we’ll sign some sort of vet, good character vet PF/C to a one year overpay deal, especially if kanter is gone- someone like Ed Davis, Amir Johnson, etc. Alternatively we could trade for one on a one year deal (eg Faried) with any cap space from Kanter opting out (if he opts out).

There’s got to be some benefit to being competitive and having the kids play their natural positions. This isn’t the G league and these kids need to learn how to compete in the nba. We’re a top 5 lottery team either way. I like the idea of trading Lee for a high chatector vet like Faried to balance the roster

I wonder if the Knicks are bringing Hicks back. He has been working out with the Fiz kids.

Culture change means trying to win, not emptying the bench.

Thank you -this is exactly how we should approach this season. Not sure our Front Office has the discipline to do this - we will see

Its a positionless league that plays horse.

You don't need no stinkin' PFs.

That would be awesome. I think he gets a deal okc can't match with their cap situation. I don't think the Knicks have the cap space to give him a deal pic couldn't match.
