I'm actually excited to see what he can do. He was on my draft board. (Mudiaye was NOT!)

I'm probably in the minority but I'm in no particular hurry for this season to start. The thought of no KP for at least the first four months does nothing for me in light of the fact he's the brightest spot on a team that doesn't have many. If we could wait until January to get things going, that'd be fine with me.

I can definitely see him filling in and playing more power forward in a few years. I'd like to see us get a guy like semi or OG to fill in the front court to complement Knox and KP.

Agree, Id rather Knox play more 4 than 2. Its great that he has a good enough handle to make Fizdale consider putting Knox in the backcourt at times.

Fizdale sounds like a kid in a candy store when it comes to Knox's skill set.

Once Knox puts on some weight, playing the 4 will be more doable.Hoping he doesnt start for a while. Let one of the vets start.

I thought bringing Frank off the bench was a wise move, hoping Knox isnt rushed into the starting lineup either.

Irving would give us an immediate boost, but his health over last few years of a potential max deal would be a big question mark. Major cap implications.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-kyri...

The Celtics are reportedly optimistic about re-signing Kyrie Irving in unrestricted free agency next summer.

But they’ll face competition.

Sherrod Blakey of NBC Sports Boston the Bulls Talk podcast:

I can tell you right now, the New York Knicks, he is their No. 1 target. I’ve spoken with people within that organization. They have made it absolutely crystal clear to me that, if they had their pick of guys that are going to be in the free agent market this summer, Kyrie would be their first, second, third and fourth choice.

This is the effect of Irving’s vague statements on his future with Boston. Other teams see him as attainable.

Irving won’t be next summer’s best free agent. That’ll be Kevin Durant or, if healthy, Kawhi Leonard. But Leonard has telegraphed an interest in Los Angeles, and Durant… well maybe the Knicks could pursue him.

Irving looks the most realistic, though. The Knicks could sell Irving, who grew up in New Jersey, on a homecoming – but so can the Nets, who are also reportedly interested.

The Knicks reportedly plan to stretch Joakim Noah this fall, setting up max cap space next summer. That plus this report suggests they’re more than just interested in Irving.

They look like a team trying to avoid directly tampering while still broadcasting its enthusiasm for Irving in the hopes it impresses him. Will it work?

It’ll be a long season of Irving rumors until we find out.
