stated he want his jersey hanging in the Boston rafters, after all the talk about this guy wanting to be a Knick.
when kawhi was asked his future plans with the raptors in a 100 different ways by the media, his answer was I'm concern about tomorrow, I'm taking it day by day.
Kyrie, basically sounds like he has no interest in leaving boston at all (which i certainly don't blame him)

It all depends if they win or not if Celtics win a chip he stays, if not he leaves, the same goes for Kawhi and Durant
I never understood why Kyrie would have wanted to leave Boston in the first place, especially with Gordon coming back. He seems to have everything there. Money, the chance to be the top guy on a great team.... and a great team in general. Oh, and he potentially has the best coach in the league besides maybe Pop. If it’s possible that he’s having problems with his teammates again, like how he did with LeBron, then maybe we should be steering clear of him in the first place. That has Marbury written all over it.

well he's stumbling around a little bit because it's not always easy to keep your balance on a flat earth . . .

Imagine growing up a die hard knicks fan in New Jersey. Becoming a superstar in the NBA, and playing for the slimy Celtics, It would feel so wrong and I bet has him feeling like a traitor. Putting on the white and green would give me nightmares, I’m sure it makes him sick to his stomach.

Melo pretty much did the same thing, even though everything knew he was coming to NY. Words are wind.
It's media day in Boston, I think it was the right thing to do to make pro Celtic comments.

Solid point. Must be difficult for him.

Meh, I think most NBA players move past that. They aren’t fans like how we are. They have to be like that.

Someone sticks a mic in your face, what are you going to say? I'm going for the most money? This team sucks? I hate this city?
Nothing anyone says in an interview means anything. Maybe Stan Van Gundy gutting Dwight Howard in the press about losing his job. But that's it.

He said he wants his Jersey hanging up in the RAFTERS, thats not a puff puff piece for the Boston media bro.
Kyrie is very articulate and smart, there's a million ways he could have answered that question without saying that.
kyrie is flake and he's always hurt. stay away from new york.
Of course he's going to say he wants to stay. And maybe he does. He can't ignore these questions because it will be taken as him wanting to leave. So he has to answer them this way no matter what. Ultimately i think it comes down to how they play this season. The east is available for their taking. The general perception is they would get to the finals even without him, so we will see if he feels appreciated for his contributions at the end of the season. Remember this guy already has a title and 3 finals appearances. He wanted to escape Lebron and get credit and respect for his contributions to lifting a team, something he didn't get in Cleveland. He may run into the same issue in Boston. This might be Tatum's team, and Horford is the emotional leader. Does Irving become seen as the most important player on a finals team? That is what is comes down to for him to stay i think. If he leaves, i don't think the Boston fanbase even bats an eyelid. They are loaded and saw what this group is capable of without Kyrie. That has to matter to him. He's not Durant. Totally opposite personality.

It's not only up to how they play, it's more so about how we play and how we look, and the kind of potential we have.
IMO anything less then 38 wins and we're looking at 2010 all over again, Missing out on all the top tier FA and settling for a (amare type player).

exactly...but then did we have a good chance of getting kyrie anyway? his current team took lebron to the end without him in the lineup...why would he give that up to come here?

Not really true. Considering KP will be out half the year and our team is young so free agents understand that the knicks arent making noise this particular season. But given all the young talent,a healthy KP,and another top pick, and cap space we wont miss out on free agents
Irving might have shown up for camp, seen all the talent on tap, and realized he isnt going to do better in the East. Now that LeBron is out West, the East title runs through Boston for the next few years.
I dont expect irving to say anything about possibly leaving at this point UNTIL after the season. He is in a great situation but its a long season and it depends how Boston ends up
Allanfan20 wrote:https://www.complex.com/sports/2018/09/k...So he’s basically saying he’s not an idiot. He has it all in Boston. Why would he want to leave?
Then again we could have said that about him wanting to leave a great situation in Cleveland.
He never once stated he wanted to retire a Cav or have his Jersey hanging up in the rafters
