Knicks · PreSeason GameThread: Thank god it's here, vs the Wizards 7pm (page 12)

I could be wrong but I am close to sure that techs in pre-seasondon’t count towards your season count so if that’s the case, then I’m sure the Wizards and Morris couldn’t care less about being ejected.

Like you said, if MR starts getting techs and ejections and even suspensions for this, then that’s when we really need to worry.

Morris is the one who had the most amount of techs during the regular season last year, Breen mentioned it.

I like the first game, we can hang around 500 until KP comes back for sure

So then maybe he can’t control his emoticons.

Lets not get crazy. We should all be excited this year but even with KP there would be ups and downs. The perfect scenerio is see Knox,Mitch,Frank, and even Trier take big steps,KP getting back maybe by all star break, shedding more salary at deadline, getting another high pick, then adding free agents. Next Year could be the real beginning of a longterm playoff team
Nalod @ 10/2/2018 11:07 AM
Wish I could have seen the game.
Wins are good but lets be real, The Wiz are also playing with linups and are looking at things so we all know its not a good gauge. Morris got real scowlage on the court. Gives them the edge they need.
If Mitchell got under their skin good for him. But........He can't do it to the point of distraction.

True. It's a good season to develop young players.

The possibilities are endless unless Morris is just being an ass and lying or overexxagerating.

I have to ask, does this involve honey nut cheerios??

Liked what I saw from the rookies both Knox and Mitch look like steals and potential stars/cornerstones of this franchise... teir looked like a young stronger Lou Williams. Shame he can only play 45 games with us, he already looks better then Lee ever has with us. But I’ll slow my roll it’s only preseason but so far I think we struck gold with this draft!

I agree about the draft. Calipari was right about Knox. I do think teams ahead will regret it. As for Mitch we got real lucky in the sense that he didnt play last season. He obviously would of been a lottery pick and we were able to get him in the 2nd round. I know The Lakers were big on him and regret not taking him at 25. As for Trier he also looks good. This is why i have said for 15 years that we needed to keep our draft picks. Obviously not every pick works out but you need them to build a longterm winner

I also like what I saw from Noah Vonleh between his strength and versatility paired with Mitch’s blocking ability and athleticism that’s a nice defensive front court tandem off the bench.

nixluva @ 10/2/2018 11:59 AM
The Perry Impact on this roster is dramatic. The upgrade in Athleticism is huge and very exciting. He’s still got more roster adjustments ahead!
StarksEwing1 @ 10/2/2018 12:02 PM
Our frontcourt is super athletic and versatile especially when KP gets back and knocks off some rust.
smackeddog @ 10/2/2018 12:03 PM
Wouldn't be surprised if fiz ends up having Frank and Trey as the starting backcourt with Tim Jr as sixth man (which is my preferred role for him)

btw Trae Young in first preseason game was 5 of 16 overall, 1 of 6 from 3 point land, jacked up 16 shots in 20 mins, got to the line 0 times...
only bright spot...8 assists in 20 mins.

Dont know what the breakdown of Burke's shot attempts by quarter, missed most of the first. Looked like Burke was making a concerted effort to set the table for his teammates before trying to generate his own offense.

Knox has shown some serious upside - I'm thinking Kevin Durant-type of potential. (incredibly, a super skinny, physically overmatched 19 year old Durant averaged 20.5ppg)

This year was a very, very solid draft. The players picked ahead of Knox all seem like they could be good players, even all-stars. With that said, I think the teams most likely to regret their picks are the Kings (Bagley III) and the Magic (Bamba). Bagley looked stiff and overmatched in the summer league and didn't shine in his first preseason game (7pts vs Ayton's 24). The Magic have been notorious about not developing their draft picks - and Bamba at the moment is a 1-way player (Defense)...

On the flip side: I think the only player that the Knicks might regret passing on (with Knox) is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. I think that guy can and will be a star. (Now the tutelage of Doc Rivers on the Clippers, he's everything that Austin Rivers was supposed to be coming out of the draft)

Porter Jr in my book has a shot to become a better player in the long run, but due to injuries I think his odds of success in the NBA are 5% superstar vs 40% solid player vs 55% bust.

Check out Mikal's box score in the Suns game--yikes!

we were definitely not drafting another guard with our glut of guards already
