Sorry if this is a little early. Im excited for the season to watch the kids grow BUT im also excited for adding more youth next year as well as a potential big free agent. Obviously we all expect our first rounder to be high BUT we also have 2 2nd rounders from Houston and Cleveland. Obviously the Houston pick will be at the end of the round BUT the Cleveland pick can be pretty high. This is important because you can find some gems early in the second round(Mitchell robinson). My question is are there any restrictions on the picks. I though I rad that somebody has the option to flip picks with the Cleveland pick?

yes we do not have second round picks next year, but next year is definitely FA addition season for us.

The one advantage of a pick in the 55-60 range is you are getting a player not much different than UDFA quality, but based on positional crunch, you might get a player you might not get otherwise.
For example, last offseason, the Warriors got a young big man, Chris Boucher, as an UDFA. Pivot was a position of flux for that team. Pachulia and McGee were not sure things at any point. West was very old, and the other candidates were very young as well. While the odds were low, Boucher had a better pathway to playing time ( Jordan Bell did , so there's that example) than he would on the Knicks with Kanter/pre injury KP/Noah/KOQ/pre trade Hernangomez
Teams are able to find some big men gems in the 2nd round. Knicks might be able to grab a decent big man prospect who might otherwise have signed with a different team as a UDFA based on pathway to minutes/playing time.
This is also where cap flexibility come into play. The Warriors could only sign Jordan Bell to a two year deal because they were so heavily cap locked. It's one thing with the Warriors, who are that way because they are bursting with talent. It's another thing on the Knicks, who just have some really shitty contracts. You need cap flexibility to give your 2nd rounds some guaranteed money, so you can leverage a longer deal with them.
Someone like Jordan Bell for four years instead of two, at cost control, you can see the massive difference.
A pick in the late 50s is still an asset. Make the most out of it. See them like bullets in a gun. A bullet for a 50 caliber anti-material rifle would be cool. But a single shot from a Derringer can still kill somebody. Margin of error is vastly different though.
Try to see the good in the opportunity, even if it's just a matter of principle.

Awesome. It looked like they had two picks coming in and two going out. That would actually leave them with 1 pick. I hope you are right.

As far as i know only their OWN second rounder was going out. The only draft pick we traded for the last few years was one of last years second rounders for mudiay
