Knicks · Frank haters can suck it (page 35)

Rockets would have to give something to elf for him to waive his NTC. Maybe Knicks kick in some cash for Rockets to spend on him? He leaves knicks because he will not play here or can get a promise of an extension or offer for next year.
I can’t ascertain value. Its not what I think Dipo is worth, its what Knicks think. Its not that he retires a knick either, its just can he sustain trade value on a 3-4 year deal?
Or is he a season ending rental for us. If so then pay accordingly.
As for Frank? I cannot project what we do or don’t do with him. I’m not clairvoyant like 1248 is about this.

Oladipo to the Knicks is still a thing?

In our prism of reading knicks are in everything regardless of reality. Any player that was in Orlando is associated with Perry. Any player that is from NY, parents from NY or New Jersey, or can read a subway map in a thing. Anyone that went to Kentucky. Anyone associated past or present with CAA is a thing.
Anyone that played for Thibs or had a drink with WWW is a thing.

Luka is a thing. Dame is a thing.
We're at .500, Thibs is a genius, Leon knows where all the money is buried and has every player's agent on speed dial, and WWW is probably working the media.

Every big name will be a thing, sooner or later. Maybe a good thing, or maybe be a bad thing that just ticks players off.

These next three games are going to be critical for Frank. Payton is likely out for another 3-5 games. Rose is still not back, and Quickley is battling a strained groin. Frank is the only healthy PG, and he should get 20-25 minutes over the next three games. He has to show great defense and that he can consistently hit a 3pt shot at a high percentage. If he can go for 8 pts, 3 ast, 3 rb, 1 stl, with at least 2 3s made per game shooting at above 36%, then I think the knicks will feel more comfortable that he has rounded the corner and has become a legit 3 and D guy off the bench who they likely will want to keep if they can resign him to a reasonable deal.

Oladipo is not what he was before the serious leg injury. He’s just a catch and shoot guy now basically Reggie Bullock without the hustle and defense

Vmart @ 3/13/2021 12:04 PM
It takes time to come back full speed from injuries.
Juliano @ 3/13/2021 12:37 PM
It's going to be interesting to watch him against Maledon tonight.

Dipo's defense has reportedly been good, but his shot has been horrible and he's not as explosive. My problem with Dipo is that he's only had one "All-Star". And even then, the majority of that season was bolstered by a really hot start. There's no way I'd feel comfortable paying him on ridiculous in the assumption that he's going to return to All Star form.

Oladipo had that one excellent year in Indiana. He has not been the same. I’ve not been impressed by his defense and shooting which is his specialty that’s fallen off as well

He’s just a name now

Still think he is a quality asset as a 3nD role player. Showing it even now.
1.2 makes per game from 3, on just 2.1 shots
1.9 DBPM rating.

Wish he wasnt so inconsistent. Thats Frank's biggest problem at this stage in his career. Believe he's developed the skills to be a good bench player. Not the consistency.

Vmart @ 3/14/2021 12:38 PM
I root for Frank but the dude lacks any kind of aggressiveness. He has thrown up three goose eggs. He is playing himself out of the league. I hate to say it.

I'm afraid you're right. It's hard not to root for the kid, he seems sound, likeable and there's his childhood fairytale history of being the child of a single mom refugee from Rwanda and making it to the NBA. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he's going to be able to shake off some of his european basketball training. Well, whatever happens next it will have been a hell of raise up the social ladder if he hasn't been a fool with his money.

Thank you for a humanistic take. Many of us took to this kid because of the back story. We sometimes forget these not just teenage millionaires but people too!

I have always seen Frank as a role player. His consistency and natural lack of agressiveness has always kept him as one. At this point, the question now becomes is he the type of role player that the "Modern NBA" teams even want? Even the so called "defensive specialists" have had to adapt and become significant three point threats. Gone are the days that you are seeing "Roberson type" players getting considerable minutes. Fact is, most high level teams have more than just one high level scorers. Therefore, having a guy like Frank that can maybe stop one of them no longer translates into much. Especially when giving up so much on the offensive side when trying to match offensive production.

Thibs is just another in a long line that has brought Franks reality into focus. Hopefully he can prove me wrong in the next few months.

So Frank played a great defensive game tonight against Harden. If the Knicks stop trying to make him a pg and use him and a D&3 threat he is successful.

It’s like saying a fish is a bad fish because it cannot fly, when you should be judging a fish on how well it swims.

Bro was 0-4 from 3 and had 0 points and had 6 fouls. D was arguably there tho a lil costly but there was no 3.

He sucked last night. No doubt. Refs didn’t do him any favors implementing James Harden forcefield rule

Defense don’t matter?

TPercy @ 3/16/2021 10:31 PM
Two consecutive shitters. He might be out the league if he keeps this up.
