Kanter and Lee are very well known commodities.
Unfortunately in good and in bad sense.
Thinking that NBA teams are not well aware on all stats and eye tests for every player they want to add to the roster is naive.
No doubt the use cases are possible. But we need some luck to get what we need for this kind of assets with limited use.

There is Mitchell Robinson's potential. IF its legit you have to run with that potential.
He is not a franchise talent. I know this because he has good games and we lose. Its not him. He is good. The tangibles don't add up. The stat line is good, its just not enough.

You need to encourage people when they start trying so they will hopefully continue.
Kanter helped Frank a lot on Young in first half on PNR defense so it is some good start.
He was bad-awful on boxing out Plum in the second... but its one thing at a time...

Not really, but he's not as bad as say Amare or melo..

The guy is really good at 2 things, rebounding and is a beast in the post. Towns just got 200 million and he is one of the laziest defenders in the league.

There's so few really good individual defenders in this league, the ones that are, they're pretty limited offensively. Thats why A lot of times you'll see coaches sub in for defense/offense.

This idea that your going to get this player that dominates on both ends is really far fetched and very rare.

He has anemic block numbers for a pretty tall, pretty mobile guy.

As of a few days ago, the difference between the Knicks defense per 100 possessions with him on the floor and off was stark. Knicks now have two guys on the roster who can be rim protectors (which he's the antithesis of) and score. Robinson is all projection right now, but it's a projection year.

Kanter does two things really well. He's just awful at the most important thing a center needs to do.

No one is calling for his release, he just doesn't have a seat at the table in the future.

now i would trade him in a heartbeat. Black hole on offense -- never saw a shot he didn't like -- or as Charles Barkley used to say about Chuck Person "you can fake a pass to him, and he would shoot it"

And as much as it looks like he cares or hustles, invariably it seems we're net negative when he's on the court.
