No, I think Boobies has been the best Knicks player ouitside of Hardaway and Vonleh. It was a really putrid decision to it him.
Not any different than Vonleh or kanter coming off the bench
I am talking about arbitrarily getting DNP-CDs, not about comimng off the bench, you knew that!
Clearly those games are now in rear view mirror. I cannot see him being benched again in favor of hezonja
Maybe, but the fact that they ever happened, makes Fizdale a poor coach.
I missed most of what this is all about, but Fiz is a poor coach?

Hardly as far as I can see.

lol 3 game win streak would say otherwise

Curious. What did you expect of this team?

What's the purpose of coaching a team as the Knicks this season? To win as many games as possible? Was that the main focus?

The players play hard and seem to believe in things more so than I can recall in ages.

The games before the 3 game win streak you can tell there is good teamwork and relationships going on, while meanwhile ALL players have a chance to prove themselves.

The old saying, "You suck, you sit" is more true than I can ever recall, almost.

We have a lot of players with something to prove so this is how it goes. They will almost all get chances, and are, but if they falter for too long, back to the bench until they get another shot.

The coach will also look at matchups game to game which also leads players who may even have been benched to get new opportunities to build confidence and get more PT.

This is very similar to one of the most successful coaches handling of players in soccer, Pep Guardiola, and he is arguably considered the best at developing and improving players in that sport because of this approach. I see Fiz as a potentially comparable coach, because even as we have lost games I see player development and see hope.

I am curious too. You suck you sit? What do you think Hezonja and Knox have been doing? Earning playing time? The whole context of this comment was Boobies getting DNP-CDs

Hezinjia reminds me of Lance and Frank starting the first five games. It just handicaps the team when guys have little or no positive impact on one or both ends of the floor. The only thing I go back to is Fiz talked about Mario often looking like the best player in practice during training camp. He said similar things about Mudiay in regards to the point guard position before Mudiay got hurt. Maybe he is hoping with minutes he breaks out. Have to think Dotson ended that tonight.

Cartman718 wrote:So is it ok if Frank gets dnp cds

Frank plays defenses so no it's not ok. Only Knicks playing any defense consistently this year are - Frank, Vonleh, Hardaway, Boobies, Trier and Mitch.
Knox, Hezonja are sucking ass.
Mudiay and Burke are also sucking ass when they can't make shots
Kanter is on and off on defense, but never very good

GoNyGoNyGo @ 11/27/2018 9:44 PM
Trier is the real deal. Wow...what a performance from that kid.

Knox needs to sit and possibly go to the G-League. He lost his game. Needs to get back to getting to the basket. Needs MUSCLEs.

NTILIKINA is playing too slow (no confidence)...I am a hue fan of his but his last 5 games have been AWFUL. His D is fine but as we know he needs O too.

Dotson should play over KNOX for now but LEE is coming too...I'd rather play and keep Dotson.

Hezonja is a bust...time to move on from him, IMO.

Maybe you missed it, but I said that this won't last due to matchups, but also I would say because Fiz wants to still give you a chance at this point of the season, at least.

Color me impressed, as I've been since summer league, but also game to game he seems to be getting better while still making mistakes that are understandable.

Like I said, amazing at this point to consider we got him undrafted. He really has the tools to be a star and our future PG/SG as a 2 way player.

I agree w almost all of this. Not sure about Knox though. He seems lost at the moment. Not sure about the fix. Not a huge fan of the g-league notion though. I think we need to find some plays for him to build some confidence. Using him as a catch and shoot guy primarily???

I feel the same w Frank. We have 0 idea of what we want him to do on offense. At least he contributes on D

Trier continues to impress

Knixkik @ 11/27/2018 10:01 PM
Knox will be fine. He’s so young. Attacking the basket is the key for him. It will open everything else up. Trier seems too good to be true at this point. He’s a great 6th man and seems to do everything on offense. Does he have star upside ? This sort of rise is unprecedented so I want to temper my expectations.

Dotson said he was able to stay ready because he's had great communication with Fiz...

Loved that. Fiz has been so impressive. During Dantoni's tenure a lot of guys complained about a lack of communication. I think Rambis may have struggled some with communication as well.

Trier might be our best PG at this point. He creates shots for himself and others.

Today, he had more assists than Mudiay and Burke combined and less turnovers. The only thing I see with his passing is that it's predetermined. He decides who he wants to pass to and doesn't pass to the open man. But that can change with good coaching, he is not instinctive at passing.

At the very least he's an excellent compliment to Ntilikina. Frank can focus on defending and it puts less pressure on him to create plays. Trier can serve as the primary playmaker off the bench and of course finish games when he's hot.

Tonight mudiay was back to shooting off
One foot, falling to ground, double
Clutches etc. he needs to simplify and stop trying to be like mike

Was really turned off by his body language. He should be fighting for his professional life

That's what makes him a players coach, most coches feel like they don't have to give you an explanation or tell you anything.

He was shooting like that when the shots were going in. I guess that's how he is comfortable shooting.

Agreed...The way the game is played today, he can definitely get some minutes there...He can get a good shot and or draw and dish almost every time.

Did you see that energy that Brown just exhibited on Trier? If they're not giving that kind of effort, go rest, on the bench!

Dude knox his famous for having low energy, cmon now we all knew that from jump, we just didn't see it in SL and was all hoping the critics were wrong about him.

Dude is going to be a bust he is another wannabe scorer who can't shoot at all. Yeah he is long but so what. Dude can't defend and has shit instincts. He is a taller , worse version of rookie Hardaway jr. I can't stand sucing and whiffing horribly o Knox and Frank is going to set us back years
