There are no miracles. At least not in NY.
Trier remind me so much of rookie Allen Iverson .. a young combo-guard.
Frank remind me of a young Trevor Ariza .. only thing Ariza were a 2nd round pick, and Fans big expectation of Frank not being a high scoring guard (DSJ) at the 8th pick in the draft. Fans forgot the Knicks were LOSERS having two shoot-first players who never passed the ball in Melo/KP who also took 35 to 40 shots combine in a game on 39% fga shooting (plus FA D.Rose), when Phil Jackson selected a pass-first guard Frank in the draft.
Dotson's performance disappointed me in the SLG, but Dotson stepped up his level of 2-Way performance in the preseason games.
Knox MitchRob and Trier put on a very good show boat performance in the SLG, the trio showed all types of athletic potential.
Yes! the Knicks has way to many young guards on the roster (PG Mudiay, PG Burke, PG Frank, PG Trier, SG Dotson, and so-so decision-making SG Timmy) that all need playing time (NOW) in the 2018-19 season.
To bad Mills/Perry wasn't bright enough to sign the Spurs HOF Tony Parker in the offseason as a player/coach/mentor for all our potential gaurds !!!

You’d have to play him too then.
Right now, Mudiay is our only pure PG- Burke is more tweaner - small shooting guard that has to play PG because he isn't 6'6".

I would argue that Mudiay is definitely not a pure PG. We have a group of combo guards. We need a pure PG, like Bledsoe or Rubio. Both are free agents. For the right cost this summer, you would see a world of difference with one of them. Mudiay can still develop into one though, but he's nowhere near there now. But he's the closest thing we have currently.

I know it when I see it, but this pure PG thing I question as Im not sure what our style of ball is. Mudiay does push the ball in transition but so does Trier. In half court set the probing is also done by them and Timmy. This is where Burke is very good at until he get tied up. Then its ugly for him. Frank does not get tied up because he moves the ball "too soon". Running Pick and roll Frank is excellent at passing but lacks that last burst/confidence to keep it to the rim. Ok, that and his outside shot Too!! Trier in the paint has the knack like earl Monroe (not comparing)to bounce off defenders and create space. He gets blocked but he is getting there and getting to the line.
whats the answer?? I don't know the upside to Mudiay but for now the games are fun and the intrigue is there. Curious to see if Frank is able to continue the Fiz method of re-education from the bench.

I don't see Bledsoe as a pure PG. He's more of a physically gifted version of Burke. Rubio is good, but he's only as good as the players around him. He might make sense if Durant signs and the other roster pieces flesh out.

If Durant signs then it alleviates a need for a pure PG, as he will be a primary playmaker. If we don't get Durant, we absolutely need a pure PG. Bledsoe scores like Burke, but he also plays D and gets teammates much more involved. He's a better all-around player and PG. Rubio is a pure PG who lacks the scoring to be a star, which we don't necessarily need with KP, Knox, Hardaway, Trier, Dotson, etc, so he could be an excellent fit in a lineup meant to surround KP properly.

I thought the knicks were stupid for not trading for bledsoe last season
Noah, frank and a protected 1st was all that was needed.
Now they had to eat Noahs contract, frank looks nothing like an nba PG, and Mudiay would have been a solid back up to Bledose--point guard position would have been solidify
Trier is not a pg, and struggles with the rest of his game when giving pg responsibilities

Not so sure about Bledsoe's D. He was good once upon a time. Then, at some point he decided to become an agent and help Scary Terry get a $12-$15 million per year deal. Also, even Durant can make use of a playmaker, we've seen it with GSW. Defenses adjust when the ball just sticks in his hand every play.

He's having his best season. He's a plus on both sides of the ball. Very few guards are. Bledsoe is really good. Only thing with him is he's 29 years old, so we are seeing his absolute peak now.

I think trading a 1st is a bad idea in general, but i understand your point. But we could have him for free this summer as a free agent (and have plenty of space to resign Mudiay on a short-term contract as his backup if we want.) If we strike out on the top free agents, i am all for Bledsoe or Rubio. We need a PG badly. We can't waste Porzingis' early prime years without a reliable PG. Age is always a concern, but if we sign either player to a 3 or 4 year deal we can work towards developing an eventual replacement in the meantime thru the draft and internal development. I am fine being patient with all other positions. Let Robinson, Porzingis, Knox, Vonleh, Trier, Dotson, Ntilikina etc develop and get their minutes accordingly and take their lumps, but the PG position needs to be a impact playmaker who can create plays for these guys, as it will accelerate their development. KP, Knox, and Robinson especially need quality PG play in order to properly develop and fulfill their potential.

Possible fluke year candidate. Players who put up career years or number close to career year at age 28 or older usually fall back the next few years. John Hollinger wrote a couple of articles on this. You have exceptions like Lowry and Billups, but something to consider. Injury concerns and the fact he isn't a pure PG make me want to steer clear. No one really knows. He could be another exception, but I don't want to gamble big money on it.

Can't be accurate. The going rate to trade Noah away with 2.8(estimation with the .8)yrs would be at least 2 future first round picks alone. When you add Bledsoe to the mix your going to have to increase the value even further.
Knicks made a play for Bledsoe then odds are they lose out on his prime years with not enough overall talent. While also shipping away the future assets necessary to add the talent necessary. Not only that but he would be due to re up his contract this off season so you would have to increase his salary to at least 20 mil meaning not shot at a FA. Possible Bledsoe would have cost the Knicks Knox as well if that pick wasn't lottery protected. These are the many factors that go into making a play for Bledsoe last season.
There are no short cuts. Obtain as much assets as possible so that when you do make moves for guys like Bledsoe there isnt much of a draw back. Like what Miluakee did.

Yeah i don't think you should deal assets for a 2nd tier player like Bledsoe, but to me signing him as a free agent is a different story. A team led by KP, Hardaway, and Bledsoe will make the playoffs in the east, and the development of Knox, Robinson, Dotson, etc, and further development from KP will allow for high upside. The only thing you risk of course is not keeping a max slot open year after year just in case. But you can only do that for so long.

Why would Bledsoe leave Miluakee for the Knicks though?
Bledsoe will also be 29 and looking for a 4-5 year deal with as much money as possible since it will be his last in prime years. Which means we would only get maybe 2 prime years out of his deal. Knicks need to look for a PG that fits the timeline. KP will hit his prime in 2 yrs at 25-26.
I really like Monte Morris out of Denver. They don't have any incentive to move him at the moment. But with Jamal Murray being the PG of the future maybe he could be had in the right deal. His value shouldn't be to crazy since he isn't established as of yet. But he has maintained his efficiency dating back to college. He has strong floor general instincts. I can see him getting really really good in 2 season.
He was a guy along with Josh Hart I was hoping the Knicks would land in last years draft. Though I am very happy with Dotson.

I don't see Bledsoe as a pure PG. He's more of a physically gifted version of Burke. Rubio is good, but he's only as good as the players around him. He might make sense if Durant signs and the other roster pieces flesh out.If Durant signs then it alleviates a need for a pure PG, as he will be a primary playmaker.
Trier is not a pg, and struggles with the rest of his game when giving pg responsibilitiesCan't be accurate.

Milwaukee has to pay Middleton, Brogdon and Bledsoe. They try to avoid tax too. Same with UTAH and Rubio. Things get expensive for these small market teams.
Very pleased about the news.
If he signed a 1 year deal, which some felt was better financial move for him, we might have been in a tough spot, but now we know he's here for another season so reason to keep getting minutes rather than suggesting he's leaving.
That he agreed to 2 years says he values staying here and/or we may have a wink wink deal with his agent/him as he could have tested the market and could gotten more this summer, unless he completely falls from earth the rest of the season.
He's one of the best performing rookies, and even though he's almost 23 and older than most rookies, he's still someone other teams would surely like to have now.
Positive signs for the front office and attitude here as well.
