Melo has a lot of tings to do outside of playing.
A lot more meaningful things.
I wish him luck in all he will decide to do.

at least he won a college championship!

Graceful declines in the NBA are very rare. Obviously his talent has nothing to do with this. He just hasn't been able to adapt the last few years.

not that rare. most all star players are able to transition and then announce their retirements when ready to. melo is the rare one.

Vinsanity's doing pretty well, but agreed, he is a rare case.

I doubt Melo's going to become a reclamation project for $1.7mil ala Noah to play for Memphis or a Sactown.
Ego's way too big for that.

Maybe he goes overseas and resurrects OlympicMelo?

NCAA Chip, Two or three gold medals and 22nd all time scoring list. His peer statistics has him in the HOF.

Jim Boeheim will do a nice introduction at his HOF induction and Melo will some how make it a nice moment for him and basketball.
The rest we all know. The game passed him by but that is not his legacy. He had one special season with us and was an allstar. He no doubt had one or two gratuitous entries given his status. Not Mt Rushmore type player but perennial allstar by statistical measures.
Great career, multi generational wealth, celebrity status and lots of hot women. He is still very young man in life and perhaps he'll go on and do some good things in his future endeavors.
