The Knicks are mired in a five-game losing streak, but Knox has emerged as the team’s best player. Knox says the game is “starting to slow down,” and it shows in his numbers. In December he’s averaging 17.9 points and 6.1 rebounds thanks to a stretch in which he’s scored 20-plus in his last three games and five of his last eight. Knox credits his ability to hit his floater in the lane for his recent success. “It’s been really consistent the last few games,” Knox told Newsday. “So I’ve just been able to do that without going in the paint to the bigs. The bigs in this game are really good at walling up and not fouling, so being able to go to a floater [and use my] really good touch around the basket [works].”

Not surprised. I think the ankle injury set him back early on. But he has shown why he as such a high ceiling. Obviously he still needs better shot selection and defense but that will get cleaned up with more experience

Last night they had this thing showing how gianis grew from 6’9” string bean to 7’ and 40 pounds heavier

Then I see Knox w his huge feet and see a similar trajectory and huge strides to the rim

Very happy w him and happy to be patient

Disclaimer. I appreciate they’re different style players but Knox already can shoot from deep

I thought that was interesting as well. I think Knox is still growing.

To me the most encouraging thing about Knox has been the fact that he seems to be starting to read the defense at game speed and make adjustments. I wasn't sure about his IQ level but has shown the ability to understand what the defense is doing and then to work out a way to make them pay. I definitely want to see more defensive intensity from him.

I have to ask, to those who have been watching the games more closely than me... Is Kevin Knox basically Rudy Gay Mark 2? And is that a bad thing? Or do you think he'll be better/different?

Are we taking guesses? I'll play. He will be better than Gay.

I like Knox. Needs to develop his game in the post and attacking the basket. He settles for the 3 too often.

His D needs work and his FT's are awful. That being said. he willbe a scorer in the league.

I would like to see him become the type of player Tobias Harris is this season.
