Knicks · Trade KP for Davis (page 1)

meloshouldgo @ 1/20/2019 4:22 PM
Hard to tell without seeing KP play.
Gudris @ 1/20/2019 5:55 PM
Yeah and Davis is not injury prone ? :D
arkrud @ 1/20/2019 6:27 PM
What Davis win? Nothing yet.
He is older and he has injury concerns same as KP.
He is not the player to trade for.
Brow is FA target when he will hit the market.
Then you use you cap space to get him after convincing him that you have pieces to win.
Uptown @ 1/20/2019 6:42 PM
No way would the Pelicans trade AD for KP...
KnickDanger @ 1/20/2019 6:58 PM
I just don't like KP's act. Plus the injury thing so yeah.
Caseloads @ 1/20/2019 9:49 PM
AD. He'd savage the East.
NYStateOfMind @ 1/20/2019 10:53 PM
I'd take AD over KP. Both have had injury issues, but AD isn't coming off a tear. AD hasn't played under 75 games the past 2 yrs. He does everything better except for 3 pt % and even KP isn't lighting it up there. If NO is in a position to lose AD for nothing, why not offer KP?
Cartman718 @ 1/21/2019 12:25 AM
I might do that if and only if there was a measure of AD's passion to be MVP, which both Giannis n KP have clearly set their goals for and have been publicly vocal for.
LegendD @ 1/21/2019 6:47 AM
KP > AD
franco12 @ 1/21/2019 8:50 AM
I don't see how you can say KP is better than AD. With this trade, you lose a bit of youth with KP, but you get a player you can bank on, relatively speaking.

KP got weak down the stretch every year. Yes, he is young, but did AD do that at all? I don't recall if he faded in his first couple years.

We don't know if KP can sustain at a high level for a full year. THAT IS A FACT. I'm not saying he can't, but we don't know yet.

KP looked awesome for 2 weeks last year, then got winded, teams adjusted, and he returned to earth.

If there were some absurd way (i'm not looking) to land both AD & KD, then yes - those two and an assortment of 8 out of shape UKers can easily get to the finals out of the east!

Nalod @ 1/21/2019 10:17 AM
Straight up i’d Do it. Pels should as they can get a “Face of franchise” in return.
Personally I’d rather see it thru with KP and see where it takes us.
Vmart @ 1/21/2019 10:22 AM
In a heartbeat yes. KP has negative Melo exposure his attitude sucks and he has let his fame get to his head. His brother is a jackass to boot. I would trade him.

This all are feelings in you head.
Nothing in business should be done based on feelings.
It is all about the value of the player and what it takes to get him.
KP is our cap controled player so he is much more valuable asset that AD.
We can have KP and add another max contract or even two over time.
So it is nobrainer.

He is injured and will be coming off an ACL. His cap control is coming to an end. You will be paying big money to injury prone player coming of an ACL. If a deal of that ilk is presented then you have to be crazy not to think hard about it.

Both teams would do it to retrade the players again.

AD has the rest of this year, another year, and after that is a player option year, which he will decline.

KP has one more year of cost control then his 5th year creates an interesting question.

Why not just a three or four team trade?

This might be the only way to get AD to the Lakers. LBJ has been pretty much crossing the tampering line over and over again and this might end up like the PG13 situation ( where he was privately told he could not sign with the Lakers because of the outright tampering done)

NOP is stuck in a corner. They have to gut the Lakers down to nothing to justify sending AD to LA in a trade. This is the perception fallout of the tampering ( Good job, LBJ, you fucking idiot)

However a trade of AD elsewhere, then a "Trigger Trade" negotiated in advance with that third team and the Lakers could be possible. NOP could trade AD and silently work out another deal for the offseason for whomever they get in the AD deal.

If the Knicks can trade for Davis, he's not staying. His only value is to be retraded in the offseason. And they'd have to pray to the Gods to hope he doesn't blow out his knee while a Knick.

NOP would weigh out if Zinger would sign an extension with them. Hard to say honestly how that might play out.

Key to note - Any AD trade will eventually find him going to the Lakers in one way or another, even if he has to wait and go as a FA later. However his Bird Rights are insanely valuable and LBJ's tampering and posturing only operates as a tax for the Lakers, forcing another team or two into the mix means more payout in general in terms of picks/talent/etc.

LBJ is just a total fucking nimrod. I guess if you can leap up and fly across the court like you were shot out of a cannon means you can be an imbecile and have people kiss your ass and pretend you have some basic common sense. The longest YouTube video ever to be recorded would be LBJ making Minute Rice.

And 37 minutes later... the top of the box is opened....

If Knicks get 1st draft pick, do you make that trade!?
Nr1 pick + THJ for AD ??
Knixkik @ 1/21/2019 4:28 PM
Davis is great, but have to wonder about him. He's already in his prime and struggling to get his team winning despite help from Holiday and Randle, who are both playing excellent. Rondo and Cousins made a big difference there last year. Meanwhile, KP is still a few years away from his prime and already proven to be a major impact player, considering the knicks with him last year vs. without. Injuries will always be a concern but i really want to see things through with the younger home-grown star.
nykshaknbake @ 1/21/2019 8:11 PM
If it's straight up you have to. Davis IS a generational player. KP might someday be. both have injury concerns, but I'm actually more concerned about KPs long term durability more.
ramtour420 @ 1/21/2019 9:09 PM
No, and once more no. Lets see what the lottery bird will have brought in for us. (thats one of the happiest birds of my life)Even though the pelican is a big bird as well. Vicious too, there is a vid of it eating a pigeon. Screw that though. Our Porzingis is the zinger that does it. Have faith.
arkrud @ 1/21/2019 11:18 PM
Starpunching is a disease which infected Knick fan base and then the owner and FO.
Looks like FO is getting better but most of the fan are lost case.
Was Dice great before he broke, was Melo a superstar before he iso team to death, was Marbs great before he get into the track with Vaseline?
WE never learn...

Tough, but I'd pass. I think Zion is looking like a future NBA MVP.
