This NYK they aren’t that lucky to get the number one pick. For all the year the Knicks have been in the draft they never moved up in the draft order. Always staying where they are or going backwards.

Tanking when there's no KP in the wings doesn't attract Free Agents.
It was fine to root for the tank when we knew that KP was our saviour and he was unhealthy.
He is gone now.
If no free agents come... then this is our team and they need to develop a winning mindset.
Losing more games win't help attract Free Agents... it only helps "the odds"
Well... odds are we aint crawling out of the bottom three. Even if we get a few feel good Ws.
Add if we are so unlucky to be in the bottom three but pick 7th or 6th instead of 5th ... does it really matter?
Picking 5th instead of 6th or 7th definitely matters.
I get what you're saying about the losing stuff, but this team needs as much of the odds in it's favor as it can get in the draft. It doesn't bother me when they lose, I just like to see them play competitively and with some fire. Some of these 1st and 2nd year guys should be relishing this opportunity as they may not get another chance to play this type of role in the NBA again.
There's no experience like game experience, so hopefully guys like Knox can use this run to focus on and really work on his defense. Hoping Frank is back sooner than later to see what he can do with extended time on the floor and to see if he can gain some confidence on the offensive side of the ball.
Think about it, do you think Durant really cares if the Knicks win 13 or 17 games? I don't. If anything, a guy like him, with a competitive mindset might like the opportunity to try and take a team from worst to potentially first in the east- - granted, that's if all the chips fall in the Knicks favor and KD even signs here.

Losing breeds more losing, just like rats breed rats. The Hinkie plan is a ball of chocolate covered shit. The Sicksers could just as easily have hit paydirt on two out of 15 lottery picks without tanking.
The league is eventually just going to slowly evolve back to the Ewing lottery format. Encouraging half a league's worth of shit teams to to shit on themselves for 82 games just isn't good for business.
Actually, I'd like to see teams that barely make the playoffs get the best chances in the draft. Let the shit teams remain shit. Fuck the whole rewarding shit with ping pong balls. Let's see how front offices that are trying to SECURE/SAVE THEIR JOBS manage to do everything they can to win. Let them approach their NEED TO SURVIVE AND FEED THEIR KIDS the same way MJ approached practice. Kill off everything and anything that keeps you from winning.
This is actually a better and more rational approach.
The problem with the existing formats is that you get rewarded for being bad, really bad. So it directly encourages tanking. But while that is still the reality, there is no benefit to not tank. All this talk about losing culture isn't real, our roster is overhauled each year, there is NO culture. But you want your core players to NOT pick up bad habits, which unfortunately happens too often.

The league should just give every lottery team the same lottery odds. It eliminates tanking. Every team will try to make the playoffs and if they miss they have an equal shot at a high pick. 1/14 shot for everyone. Eliminates the incentive to be one of the worst teams.

The problem with a lot of bad teams is not in the draft but in CBA.
NBA is focused on entertainment revenues, endorsements, and sport betting.
This were the money are not in attendance or teams equality.
You need stars who team up to produce spectacular performances and there is not enough stars for all teams.
Reducing the NBA to 28 or 26 teams is not an option as money will be lost in huge amounts.
Draft is just window dressing and another way to extract gambling revenues.
Also the international players impact is overrated.
In hockey there are a bunch of foreign hockey superpowers with level of the game close to North American.
Russia, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Check Republic just to name a few where hockey is national sport number 1, 2, and 3.
Basketball not so much.
The consistent Tanking to get 4th pick KP, then 8th pick Frank, then 9th pick Knox, has become confusing.
Sometime I forget the Knicks front-office decision making has people calling us the Mismanagement-Knicks team.
Ok we Tank .. We get Zion in the draft .. And 3 season later Zion are asking to be traded !!!

If you want more wins, then you need more talent. Talent can only come from three sources - The draft OR free agency OR trades
No i literally want this season to have more than 10 wins. Are we going to win ever again?? Are you guys really happy watching loss after loss right now?
Can we finish with like.... 15 wins maybe? That would be nice. I want to watch a frikkin Win. Especially for the new guys trying so hard.

LOL! Good one.
I was a dyed-in-the-wool tanker since before tankin was the word we use to describe tankin.
I'm "no longer rooting for losses" for this squad.
(That doesn't mean my rooting will somehow make a difference!)
I would like to finish bottom 3 and win some more games.
I understand the need for 14%.
I don't understand the need to "be, at worst, fifth worst"
That was never why i wanted to tank.
I would rather see DSJ and Knox start clickin and winning a couple games.
If we can't beat CAVS in Cleveland.... gonna be hard to win at all.
But i'm rooting for a couple at least. Jeez. Feeling good feels good.
Tired of smacking my **** with a hammer

It’s not being fifth worst at worst. It’s the fact that we have a better chance at getting a top 4 pick collectively than the fifth pick... and as the worst team, we have a better chance to get a top 3 pick than the 4th pick. There are only 26 more games. Why do you need the satisfaction of 3 bad wins th@is season when it’s semi-possible we can win 50 games next season?
