I already knew he was going to be good, not surprised at all, he's game is tailor made for today's NBA.

The knicks would have drafted him if he was available, so it's not like we passed over him for knox

how come Trae Young hasn't hit the rookie wall and looked like crap like Knox has?

That's rhetroical.

There is such a big difference in players, and picking near the top is so much better than in the 10's and teens like we have too often.

And if we fall back in this draft, I will really not have anything to look forward to. There are too many sports out there for me to continue to root for a pathetic franchise like the Knicks.

eh, we all fall into moments of despair like that over this franchise, but then we rebound. surely you remember those awful games of young’s whwere he bricked like a maniac? he’ll have more of those. just like knox has had epic games that only lebron and a few choice others had as rookies, then had a trail of stinkers. and hasn’t he rebounded greatly in his performances the last couple of weeks?

trae’s great but the jury’s still out on the hawks making a sam bowie-sized mistake on him. or the mavs totally screwing the pooch by saddling luka with a broken-down overrated injury-prone diva with a poison-pill brother.

Yeah unfortunately for the Knicks they tanked a year late. This draft is very shallow on top tier talent.

they have the worst record in a year where zion is the best talent in the draft. i think they tanked right. the problem is the stupid lottery rule so now half the league is "tanking" to try and get the number one pick.

Trae was allowed to play thru the wall if it did exist. Knox has bounced back and forth.
No two players share the same biology so there can be no compare, unless it delights you to do so.
Hawks and knicks have done the same thing with their rookies. Acclimation has no duplicate.

Trae Young should give us all a good feeling about Ja Morant, who could be the best player in this draft class.

Trae Young 6'2 180 lbs
Ja Morant 6'3 178 lbs

As good as Trae is playing, Ja Morant has the potential to be a better player.

I slept on Trae Young, but he fits todays NBA.

I'm hyped on Zion, but does he fit todays NBA? He definetly fits the NBA back in the 90s, but what about todays game. Yes, I will say with confidence, he will be a top 5 player in his draft class, when his career is over, but will he be the best of this class.

RJ Barret for example, fits todays NBA. He has outside and inside skills....He's a play maker and a scorer. It will be interesting how these guys turn out.

GustavBahler @ 3/24/2019 10:28 AM
Young is like the freaking Energizer Bunny, not the average rookie. Was my choice. Believe Doncic will be a better all around player. Looks like the Pillsbury Dough Boy right now. He gets into NBA shape....

Agree with Nalod, not fair to compare him to Knox. Some posters are harping on his shooting pct. Should get more credit for fighting through the learning process. No one likes getting the ball stripped from them repeatedly, when they take it to the rim, same goes for shooting bricks.

Can be very deflating over the course of a season, while dealing with rookie conditioning issues. Knox is not letting it get him down. Apparently tuned out social media this season, sought out the best for advice. This is what you want to see a rookie do. Pretty sure he doesnt want to come back and struggle like he did at times this season. Too early to call.it.

The Thing on Trae was he tailed off in conference play last year and looked tired. ATL has let him play thru it.
As for Knox, he is out there trying. He is not injury prone and there are insconsistancies in his game. I think the kid is doing great. He is chucking lake crazy on a shitty team and when he feels it he now FEELS AS A TIRED 19 YEAR OLD IN THE NBA AND DOING IT! He now has knowledge of what he has to do. This is valuable. Not all of you agree, but that's cool. Time will tell us.
ATL let Trae play thru it even if he it the wall.

The difference is that Trae could shoot. The big questions centered around his athleticism and his ability to compensate using craft around the basket. Ja is above average athletically. Not Westbrook level, but he'd be in the top half. But his shot is crap by NBA standards. The form looks bad and he's not really shooting a good percentage. What's the difference between him and Elfrid Payton if the shot doesn't come along? I haven't been following Morant nearly enough to make a determination, so I have to defer to team scouts and those of you who have. Fox showed enough signs that he could become adequate at adequate. Does Morant give off the same vibe?

Zion can be a good addition to any team, but I just feel like we have been lacking a home grown elite PG since mark jackson.

I want a guy who is going to set up avg players that can't really create for themselves, and base on what I see from Fiz system, he's in desperate need of a true floor general..

Even if you dont get KYRIE, Ja and DSJ is not a bad combo.

At the end of the day you can't lose with either Ja, Zion, or Rj..

Stick to Tennis...Knox is being encouraged to be aggressive, to shoot the rock, take it to the rim, by his coach. If Frank had done likewise, he wouldn't be trade bait.

Im better at Tennis then predictive knick rookie futures. If frank was not trade bait he'd be a bonafide part of our future. Your deductive reasoning is brilliant. You should take up tennis. Your internet prognostications and attempt to cut me down even if successful does not really benefit you in any way.
Tennis does a body good.

Good at both (or was) Played Tennis for about 15 years, went to some Tennis camps, but we grew up in the "Mecca", so BBall got most of my time, and interest, when it came to sports.

My point was about your characterization of Knox's offense. Knox is doing exactly what he was told by his coach. Making it sound like he is doing his own thing. Fizdale is encouraging Knox to keep shooting, taking it to the rim. Only way he's going to learn.

My deductive reasoning is fine. You dont have any offense, you dont stick around long with a team, because they will be looking for a two way player to replace you. If its a choice between a player who is all offense, and a player is all defense, most teams will take offense these days.

Two seasons, injury prone, no offense. Frank is a glue guy off the bench, a defensive specialist. Dont believe the Knicks have the luxury of investing more time (and soon more money) in a player who has not shown nearly enough to this point.

Clarity is good. I agree with your points.
I aged out of hoop and started playing tennis about 8 years ago.
