The Phoenix Suns have told other NBA teams they are open to trading out of the No. 6 overall slot for a veteran guard.
The Suns have been searching for a starting point guard for several seasons.
The top two point guards in this draft, Ja Morant and Darius Garland, are expected to be off the board before the Suns select at No. 6.

Will they bite on any of our PG's + more?

Coming out of this draft with Barrett + Reddish = Win

I suspect they’re after Lonzo- remember he was close to being re-routed to the suns if that AD/Lakers trade had gone ahead. If Lakers are drafting Garland, makes sense to move Lonzo for a high pick
GustavBahler @ 6/3/2019 4:57 PM
If Knicks end up drafting Morant, Id get Perry/Mills maybe trying to trade DSJr. Maybe a protected pick down the road as well for the 6th. Otherwise would like to see DSJr get a season in NY to make a case for himself.

Yeah, if I were them, I would be far more interested in Mike Conley jr. It seems like he can be had for that pick. Lonzo is a good choice as well. DSJ is probably not even on the screen next to the radar screen.

I think Lonzo will flourish once he is out of LA.

That would make him a scrub. Dont believe thats accurate. Took a big leap in his shooting pct, before he got hurt this season.

If you are looking for a vet pg, you aren’t even thinking of Dennis.

Fair. Doesn't rule out getting involved in facilitating a deal for a vet PG to PHX to end up with 6 in return

I get Conley, if the Suns were a contender that needs a veteran PG. Like Derek Harper was for the Knicks, back in the day. Not these Suns. Not at this stage in Conley's career. Smith jr gives you some experience, even more potential to grow with a young team. Believe Smith jr is probably a better bet than anyone at 6. Not saying Smith and a pick would be the best offer they get. Enough for him to be considered, on their radar.

As I said, unless we draft Morant, Id like to see what a backcourt with DSJr/Barrett looks like. From camp on. Could be scary, in a good way. Worth a look, if free agency doesnt go as planned.

DSJr for the 6th pick might be doable. Partner him with Booker sounds good on paper

Maybe for the 16th pick in the first round, not the 6th

What if we expanded it to include Dennis Smith Jr, Frank and a future 2nd rounder for #6 and Josh Jackson? He badly needs a change of scenery but has potential, can be 3/4 and plays defense. Would fit better with vets around him then Knox (unless he starts playing defense) and we could pick up another young guy while shedding an extra million or so in salary? That would give us the money for Trier I believe. Would make me open to being a little daring if we had an extra pick at 6 - go for a higher risk player since Barrett seems like a pretty solid pick at #3. We would need to know if we will have a Kyrie or Kadeem Allen at the point though... big difference there!

Jackson has character issues. I think he was recently arrested at a concert. Not a huge deal but I think I remember hearing about more serious issues. I would stay away from Jackson. Also, I want a to see what DSJ does when he is healthy and has a training camp under his need his belt. I think management likes him and wanted him in the KP deal.

Listen, no one likes DSJr except Knick fans, and probably not even a majority.

Very scientific.

Nalod @ 6/4/2019 12:56 PM
DSjr in two seasons has not done enough to raise his stock if you gauge via the draft. Is he better than Culver or Hunter? I really can't say.
DSjr has the potential to beast. I'd like for him to go thru the "Craig Robinson Special Sauce School". Look what it did for Mudiay!!!
Lets get the kid in shape, get him euro-Steped and all-you-can-eat green light shoot fast and furious! See what we got!!!

Then trade him!!

knickstorrents @ 6/4/2019 1:46 PM
The reason Mudiay got good was because it was a contract year. Expect shitty things from him once he is resigned to a contract.
