The prospect of an AD trade scared me. I wonder if Boston gets into the mic now. Kyrie might reconsider staying. I think he was hoping KD would choose the Nets. Do you leave the Celtics to play with Harris or Butler?
I think NJ has a really good team with or without Kyrie. He should still consider them.

Nets feel like a team that has many good wings and will overachieve and get to playoffs. Do they have much more than a first round exit?
Nets can make trades to round out roster. They have a core to work with.
Looks like early Toronto 5 years ago.
raptors needed Lebron gone but really Leonard is the star and the rest of the team is "good" and its deep. The "3 star" theory is debunked a bit here.
For what it's worth some Hawks fan who claims to be reliable (and some folk vouch for him) posted over on real gm that we were closing a deal for AD (before the KD injury), that would involve us sending stuff to the Wiz for Beal who'd be sent with more stuff for AD. Said we'd be sending out:
3rd pick
Knox
Frank
2 Cavs picks
Our 2020 pick
Was unsure about Mitch but said he though it was Knox and not Mitch who were in the deal.
Not sure I believe it, but would make sense of Griffin's request about involving another team and sending an all star. Even if it were done, now we should back the f*** away. Besides which, if that were the deal, I'd rather just keep Beal and not add more stuff for AD

2 Dallas picks instead of 2 Cavs picks?
So essentially 4 Knicks picks in consecutive years: 3rd pick, Frank, Knox, 2020? and a bit of the KP trade?

I could see the Knicks making this deal, signing KD, let him heal and pairing AD and KD in 2021....No way would I want Beal over AD....

Doesnt make sense to me. If you are signing KD (would rather pass), he takes a year off to heal, we have our young players, recent draft picks, Barrett. A year to get better, room to add quality role players, and cap room to add another star.
AD gets hurt, we would be in deep doo doo. Our young players, draft picks shipped out for another star who cant stay on the court. If we are going to take that kind of risk, would rather do it with cap room, than draft picks and maybe all-star talent.

We already made a gambit like this. We struck out on Lebron. We signed Amare and traded for Melo. Amare broke down and then we hoped for him to return to health. Let's not watch the same movie again praying for KD to come help AD as Amare couldn't do for Melo.
For what it is worth, just heard Windhorst saying that KD is still opting out. Not sure how true it is

Not saying we definitely do it, but considering that at least 3 execs are on the record as saying they will still sign KD, that just goes to show you the thinking of NBA front offices. First, a talent like KD is comet-like, doesn't come around very often and Second, when it comes to execs and owners, it's always a business. The prospect of KD will sell tickets.

Hold up, KP, Frank, DSJ, Mudiay, basically most of our young guys were injured...Lets get this straight, Injuries don't discriminate, young, old, prime, non prime, it doesn't matter.
The only thing that can save you from injuries is depth and LUCK..

This is under the assumption that you are well conditioned.
Shams tweets for ADs camp, Woj for Griffin, so I suspect the Boston thing is BS to pressure the Lakers. Curious to see what ‘established player’ the lakers can get for the 4th, considering we have the third! I hope he does go to Boston then leaves- not only does it mess the Celtics but it would give us a shot at him next year

I would love for Boston to gut their roster and have him not sign an extension. Keep our space and try again next year. Get him for free
Windhorst thinks the pels are stringing the Lakers along to drive up the Celtics offer- makes sense. I think Celtics are offering Smart, Brown and picks, but likely the Pels want tatum, smart and picks (ticks all Griffins boxes from his espn gig months ago- elite role player, young player with all star potential and picks).
I want to keep Barrett Knox and Robinson

Klay is perfect example, it really isn't about conditioning either, hamstrings, ankle injuries, Acl, Achilles, Groin, those are freak injuries that can happen regardless to what kind of shape your in.

Barret is on the knicks already?
I am not counting Knicks out of the AD sweepstakes just yet. I’m all for rolling with the young guys; but if we can keep Mitch out of the deal then we have to consider it.
Been wanting to hold onto Knox but if he’s the deal breaker then we may have to include him.
The key is the Pelicans wanting RJ Barrett to pair with Zion. Out of all the deals, I believe he’s the player they want the most.

Yeah, he made the all star team and all NBA second team defense.
