Knicks · The case for Ja Morant (page 1)

We're meeting with him on Friday (I presume like we met with Mo Bamba last year- just in case), I think we have no shot at him, but man, would landing him in the draft turn my mood around. I like RJ, but I think if you're essentially rebuilding from scratch, I'd feel much more optimistic with a PG like Ja as our foundation (would also help get the most out of Knox and Mitch).

The only hope we have is if Glen Grunwald has a lot of influence as advisor to the Griz (he's the CEO of Canadian Bbball) and does a hard sell of RJ. I'd even consider trading with the Griz- preferably the 3rd and DSJ for the 2nd, but I'd even consider including the Mavs future pick.

no brainer. Sign me up. Happy for RJ. Would be thrilled for Ja.

I kinda like being in the position where the other team has to make the decision. I would be ecstatic with either or the two. I personally prefer RJ but I mean guy's with Ja's skillset thrive in today's NBA

For me it's about fit and situation. RJ would make sense if we had a team of shooters, but we don't so it's going to be a messy fit. Ja Morant is perfect as a foundation piece to build the team around- he'll make Mitch and Knox look a lot better with his passing and other players will want to come here and play with him

Ditto. I would become RJs biggest fan but Ja is the pg of the future here. You take him if he’s there.

Thats the hope... you got some young athletic finishers up front. A guy who gets them easy shots is the fastest way to develop them faster!
