Knicks · “The Ship Be Sinking” or Stop Kvetching Over The Usual Suspects? (page 1)

Knicks beat writers love the sensational.

Their job is to sell newspapers and clicks. Sports journalism is long dead. While Bergman and Vaccaro are wringing their hands over the latest failed attempt at another star (Anthony Davis), they miss the fat pitch in the middle of the plate that the Knicks would have done another Carmelo, and never had the assets in the first place.

Please stop.

The Knicks future is not Durant, Davis or even Kemba Walker. It is not Kyrie, Kalyan or Kawhi.
Although Kawhi would be sweet, for now, it ain’t hap’nin. It ain’t. Stop it.

The Knicks future is Thursday night. The Knicks future is young and younger.
The Knicks future is the next Pascal Siakam or John Starks/ Fred VanVleet.
It is the guys we never heard of.
Get with the program.

My favorite game is when the media spend all year saying x is going to the Knicks, to get clicks and add viewers, then when it doesn't happen laugh at the Knicks rather than themselves for printing BS that's just been exposed as wrong

Well said even though i'm pretty sure i came across a Kalyan in there which through me off a little...lol

Not signing any max players this offseason is not a loss for the Knicks like the garbage NY sports media will make it out to be. I said from the beginning that free agency would have to start with one of K.Durant (before the injury) or Kawhi and if you don't get one of those two then there really isn't much reason for us to pay out two max contracts to any other free agents unless they're just going for a spot in the playoffs and maybe a 1st round win but nothing after that. Back in the old days that would of been enough but this new regime is trying to do this the right way.

If we can do things the right way with the absolute biggest thing being hitting and hitting big with our draft pick each year, or at least hitting and not missing and if our young guys like Mitch, Knox, DSJ and the others can get better (I'm looking at you Kevin Knox) then in 2-3 years we'll have a team loaded with good/great young talent and we'll have a ton of money to figure out if we wanna go for it in free agency. We could then use a couple of the young kids and draft picks to make trades and make some good free agent signings or we can just keep on building.

PATIENCE.

Not sure why the Knicks are being accused of a failed attempt. They made a fair offer, realized that the Pels were being greedy, and diplomatically and publicly said, "No thanks".

IMO, the Knicks offered better value than the Lakers talent-wise but fell short [if that's what you call it] in protecting their future draft picks. This is nothing less than competent management practice. They should be commended.

Had a reasonable trade been agreed to the cupboard would still have been stocked with lots of youth goodness unlike the Melo trade.

Barring a cosmic anomaly, we are not signing Kawhi. BUT... you never know.

Yeah that’s why I hate media, they aren’t objective. Knicks made a fair offer without mortgaging their future. The Lakers decided to offer the world, which I understand given the fact that they are under pressure with Lebron there but I’m glad we didn’t give in to those demands
