Awesome. Love Portis. Great signing.
martin @ 7/1/2019 12:19 AM
Mitch, Randle, Taj, Portis. Interesting front line
StarksEwing1 @ 7/1/2019 12:21 AM

Power forward spot is set. Knicks have some bump and thump at the 4/5 now.
NardDogNation @ 7/1/2019 12:23 AM
Cool. Now what do you do when you realize all these guys play the same position? I hope these idiots don't think that Julius Randle can play some 3.

Bump and thump, like that

GustavBahler @ 7/1/2019 12:24 AM
Gibson/Randle/Portis can drain the 3.

Taj not really an outside shooter

anrst @ 7/1/2019 12:28 AM
Yes we signed three power forwards but we started the day with zero

Let Portis play at center behind Mitch?

Not a shot blocker, but he's 6'11" with some strength, and more than quick enough to defend at the position.

Like Randle, Portis is only 24.

I expect Portis to play some center, maybe even be the official backup at the position.

Positionless Basketball

If I know Fitz....Put these guys on the court and let them decide. All 4 players can play the 4 or 5

Knox, RJ, and I'm sure I missing a few....can play the 3 or 4

Notice the patern.....

fitzfarm @ 7/1/2019 12:40 AM
I think Portis is definitely a back up 5 great signing
ankurk @ 7/1/2019 12:57 AM

These are really good signings. I think the Knicks check in with Kawhi but otherwise it appears they are giving Smith, Allen and Frank a chance to play point. RJ and Dot have the two locked down. Knox and Dot or RJ at the three. Mitch has the five as the starter. I think the Knicks probably add a 2-3 wing or use some of their space to absorb a salary for an asset. I don't think there are many teams left looking for a team to absorb a contract. The Knicks probably sign a player.

40pct from 3 and 80 pct free throw shooter, and good rebounder (8.5 rebs/game). What more do you want?
