I wouldn't mind Paul for a rebuilding team. I think he would make the team competitive.
I wouldn't want his contract - it's absurd.
If he gets bought out, which doesn't make sense, he will likely head to a contender.
Word on the street is CP3 is a horrible teammate. Probably not the type of vet you want on a young team.

He has a horrible contract. It will be interesting to see if OKC Ives or gets assets in a Paul trade.
CP3 and Butler in Miami would be a fun duo

Guessing they're going to have to stagger their minutes, so they each have a chance to run the offense, or more accurately, be the offense. That, and take turns running the point while. they're both on the court. Only way I see it not devolving into another issue with chemistry.
Was pretty sure he was going to Miami. Guess OKC got an offer they couldnt refuse. Thats some haul for Westbrook and George. They'll be able to take more risks on high risk/reward players.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, Mike is in the final year of his deal and most of his staff wasn’t retained. If management hires an assistant head coach he is in big trouble.
The State Farm curse. Dame, Steph and Harden all supplanted Paul as the top lead guards in the league after he invited him to share his glory. No good deed goes unpunished.

First sign of trouble and MDA is gone
The west is totally going to kill each other. The Sixers will, sadly, be sitting pretty coling out of the East, ready to pick up the scraps. Sixers are winning the championship in a year.
Awful trade for the Rockets- what the heck happened to Morey? He used to be some sort of analytics guru, but he seemed to mutate into a straight out starph*cker years ago. I think Westbrook and Harden is a horrible fit and Westbrooks contract is worse than CP3's, and how the hell is D'Antoni's system going to work with Harden and Westbrook? And he gives OKC control over their draft picks for 4 years. Awful
Ha ha!
This offseason has been wild- teams have gone from not trading their firsts to trading ALL of their firsts
Westbrook and Paul became dumps. These contracts are a problem. Things we got out from. Things we are not running into for now. Westbrook on knicks could have been easy a few weeks ago, but really pointless. CP3 is pointless on knicks.
As to what MDA will do with those two? Not my problem. I won’t predict a failure because I really don’t care.
They have a very headstrong new owner in Tillman Fertitta who is in on all this. Its fun because its crazy.
OKC can use the picks for trades as well going forward.
What they do with Paul will also be interesting.
Eventually pics become real players and that’s when the fun tops. Picks are like future “Get out of jail cards”. Too many of them can also be a problem.

Good points.
Where does CP3 end up?
The contract of CP3 is a gross injustice! He is 34 years old and will get paid $40 for 3 more years!!!! He is so overrated. Who the heck wants that? Miami? I don;t think Riley makes that move.
This is the worst contract in the NBA and will be for the next 3 years. What a joke.

It is a crazy contract. Curious to see what Miami was offering. They had Whiteside at $27M expiring and Dragic 19M expiring. Maybe if OKC gave up a couple of meaningless picks to get it done? Feel they will have to use more of those acquired picks anyway if they look to trade Paul now.(Who has one more year than Westbrook) Perhaps they acted prematurely. But they might feel that Paul, Adams and Gallo are enough to compete? Maybe they will use some of those picks to trade for a 3pt. shooter? That would still be a tough lineup. I don't think CP3 is as unhappy/loser in this as the media is making it out to be. He gets to be the main STAR once again. Has Adams to compliment his excellent PnR game and has a kick out guy like Gallo that is more than capable. Maybe he thinks he can beat teams like the Clips and Houston? OKC now has a lot of picks and can either keep CP3 and bring in pieces to compete or trade CP, Adams and Gallo for more pieces. Think the ability to win and if they can trade CP3 will dictate that.
As for Rockets. They just got better. But did they fix the problem they had with CP3 which is having two ball dominant Stars? Are they going to do the same with Westbrook that they did with CP3? That is playing as primary ball handlers individually? I personally think that Westbrook is more of a transition player than CP3. Paul was more of a half court set guy. Think that will be a difference in Westbrook and Harden being able to work. Westbrook is also coming from playing with Paul George. Another ball dominant player. One who he had no problem giving up the ball to at times. The thing that does not make sense is that in watching the Rocekts this year, they seem to have missed wing defensive players and 3pt shooting. Cant say that Westbrook fills those needs.
He is a great athlete though. Will be interesting.
The one to keep an eye out is Dantoni. He lost most of his staff and will be on the hot seat if he cant make this marriage work. The Rockets new owner wants to win now and if Dantoni cant figure things out, he will be out.

Bucks? Sixers just lost Butler and JJ

Have to remember that Westbrook makes them better than with CP3. Still a good bet to win a title. (Their odds went up after trade) If you take a look at the Rockets last 5 first round picks (Decker,Capela,Jones,White,Lamb) you cant say they feel like they are giving up much. Think it is a pattern that will continue in the NBA. Teams are giving up multiple picks in order to get proven superstars. Does not seem like a terrible strategy given the success rate of the draft. Rockets can always retool if they don't win a chip and unload the contract later on for more picks considering there will be less years remaining in his contract. I am sure Westbrook will maintain his value/high level of play as long as he stays healthy.
Over the years, OKC has had 3 MVPs (Durant, Westbrook, Harden), a near MVP (George) an all star Oladipo, and now, all they have to show for it is a handful of end of the first round picks.

Riiiiiiight, they were an effing game by game mess in the playoffs this year, but they are winning it all in a year. Simmons is an uncoachable knucklehead without any kind of jump shot, and Embiid is one injury away from ending his career. What else they got now? Norvell Pell? SuperMarial Shayok? The Process is over.

If that happens and we're struggling I say pull the plug on Fiz and bring back the mustache!

First sign of trouble? Westbrook in the building is all trouble he needs. I'll be surprised if MDA makes it to training camp.
Maybe Pringles gets the empty suit gig coaching the LeBronakers?
