Not sure. Frank has a Lin like hysteria about him despite not having much success as an nba player.

True

That’s an exaggeration.

People like Frank’s defense and believe he still has potential.

Fiz not playing him while Smith Jr plays so poorly only adds to the controversy.

It's only been 3 games of an 82 game season. Frank's time will come shortly. Smith has a ton of potential and the coach is trying to tap into it. Clearly Smith is pressing, and after today's performance, Frank's time may be sooner rather than later. Smith had some really good games for us last year so the potential is there....

This is Fiz’s second year with the team.

He has 9 new players on a 15 man roster. His continuity guys are second and third year players. Of the six guys the Knicks kept, only Trier and Dot are over age 21. Only Frank and Dot have been with the team for three years.

Yeah, lack of continuity is the reason he admittedly didn’t have a game plan Pat year and so far shows none in year 2.

Uptown and crush like fizz and dsj

They were fooled IMO

Also, a bit shocked at the passion guys have for Frank. Would love for him to play well and be a rotation player but I don't think his struggles are because of the two coaches he has had. He hasn't been a very good nba player
As knick fans arent we suppose to have passion for our young players and want them to succeed?

Absolutely. But I think you have been a fan for a long time. DSJR is a young player. Trier is a young player. RJ is a young player. Frank averaged 20 minutes a game last year. It's obvious Fiz did not like what he saw or has seen in practice from him. IMO, and I think you have been watching for many years, there is nothing wrong with having young guys ride the pine and learn until they have the confidence and skills to play. Last year was different. We had no one that could play. They obviously made a decision to go a different direction this year. Think the thing we have to fight through is the adjustment period for a new cast of players.

Chandler @ 10/26/2019 10:16 PM
Ok enough fizz bashing from me. IMO He’s in way over his head and that won’t change

I do want to give the players a shout out for rebounding and scraping

I hope they stick together through this adversity

You can hit it anytime you want.

Won’t change the play on the court, the game plan Fiz has had for two years now and the fact that 17 wins may be again in our horizon.

Know that. Last season it was the youngest starting lineup in the NBA, and a mission to tank, develop players. This season its almost new roster, with little time to get on the same page, because of a short preseason. If Im going to hit the panic button, it will be when Fizdale has been given enough time with a deep roster to prove he isnt the right coach. Believe we have a ways to go to get there You might be right that he isnt going to work out, would rather wait until he has been given the opportunity to prove that himself. Game 3 aint it.

I agree with most of this, but there's one nagging thing...Fiz's inability to make in-game adjustments, especially late in the game, is something that has followed him from Memphis. That is starting to become alarming.

CrushAlot @ 10/26/2019 10:17 PM
Great hearing Tatum talk about Morris. Have heard the same stuff from guys that covered that team last year.

Papabear Says

We have very little talent. We signed what was left on the table. That's why we have short contracts. This team or coach will break the spirit of these young guys.

You do know most arm chair fans think an offense that was introduced to 9 players should be mastered in ONE months time.

i get that. The problem there is no structure....that scares me. I fully understand new players need time to gel. The problem is when you let players just run ISO all game it creates bad possessions. But he will keep playing guys who are having bad nights like the nets game. Look i have supported Fizdale and feel the players play hard for him. HOWEVER he hasnt shown much structure for his team, i think you need to be an X's and O's coach too. As for Frank im not demanding he play 20 minutes. But at least use him for defensive purposes and certain points. Riding the pine all the time doesnt help especially when the kid knows if he makes one mistake he is benched for 3 games lol
y2zipper @ 10/26/2019 10:22 PM
Agree that the talent isn't here. The Elf, Barrett Morris Randle Robinson lineup has looked effective, but the depth we thought we would have clearly isn't here. The reserves just didn't keep the team in the game tonight.

This...all some of us are saying is be patient. After a while, Fiz may prove to be in over his head. Give the some time with this new roster of mismatched parts that is not ideal to play in the new NBA

Absolutely. He deserves time. However im a bit concerned for his lack of adjustments and no system. Also i DESPISE Iso ball which i feel Fiz lets them do far too much

I want BOTH to succeed. Im not saying they should play 25-30 minutes but we need to see what we have. I think Dennis is hurt and i feel bad for him because he is being forced to play through it. The Frank situation is just ridiculous. Whether you like frank or not him wasting on the bench for all but 18 seconds is doing no one any favors

One issue...playing Frank only a few minutes per game will probably hurt him more than it helps him, because he ll be pressured to over-perform in the short time he plays, and even be more hesitant because he'll be playing not to make a mistake.

We also have an offense with limited off the ball movement...not a good fit for Frank.

He played well with the French team because he knows his role, seems to be respected by their coaches, and they play more of a team game on offense, something we don't do on the Knicks.

Agreed. I have always been fair about Frank. Never said he would be a flashy all star pg. Offensively he has struggled. However i think his defense is important and he also is a good passer. I agree he is terrified to make a mistake because he knows his leash is shorter than anybody on the team(lets be honest). If he plays bad or is overwhelmed then by all means take him out but not giving him any chance to gain confidence is just stupid.

True. Keep in mind that when the Big three played their first year in Miami they looked like crap. We don't have anyone close to that caliber.

And again, DSJR is a young player who is getting a chance and one that has shown much more than Frank in his first two years. So what your advocating for Frank is what Fiz is doing with Dennis yet you have an issue with it. Going by your position above, you would think you would be questioning why Smith only got 5 minutes and 11 minutes in the last 2 games.

Anyway lets hope they all get better and Frank gets to contribute. Its Saturday night so back to having some fun. Have a good night man.

I watched the Boston broadcast.

Brian Scalabrine on watching the Knicks around the second quarter... "All we heard about was how the Knicks were going to speed it up, run, and defend full court - I'm seeing none of that here."

At the third quarter when the fans are chanting for Frank... "I think Frank is a stud yet he can't get on the court in this building."

Fourth quarter, "You know in the off season talk is cheap. The good thing about the NBA is that during the season you're held accountable."
