Coaches love Paul. He would be a great fit. His contract is horrific. I think the Knicks would need to get some picks back to take on his deal. 39 mil for Paul a year for 3 years when a guy is 34 is scary.
That contract isnt worth it
His contract has 3 more years...I would like to take a stab at it...because we are not getting anybody in 2021...my concern is that he would get hurt and his contract becomes dead money on the cap...risky....but we need a competent point...RJ can’t play 35 mins a game every damn night
I'd rather partner with Lavar Ball on a new sneaker company than take on that deal.
we shouldn't even think it
Guy's contract is an albatross.
You know who would look good on the Knicks Frank Ntlikina. It to sound redundant but this kid is getting a raw deal.

Can't be said loud or often enough. The kid's a unicorn being squandered. Typical Knick insanity.
With Chris, this is a playoff team. All we are missing is a pg to competently run the offense, but Paul's contract is a nonstarter. We just cannot take that contract on.

Honestly IT was right- you can't rebuild in New York, fans and media are a toxic combo that kills it every time and drives away any free agent. Same fans and media then pretend it's Dolan who's to blame.
There is no scenario where it would be worth it.
Mudiay would have been great to have kept! But with DSjr, Frank & Payton, who the heck thought we'd be dealing with this?
I agree Paul would be great, but there is no way we should even touch his contract- unless it's facilitating a three way deal!

You can, you just have to deal with the crap storm until you win.
We are doing just that.
The funny this is that its not the talent. We have pretty decent mixture of youth and veterans. Lets be honest we should of won the first two games. We have no direction right now. Perry and Mills need to make a decision on Fizdale. I mean even just a simple offensive system and we would be much better off

If you plan on rebuilding you do have to deal with a lot of unnecessary pressure, and in a players league, players don't want to deal with the extreme expectations that would be on them here.
CP3 here is reactiion to 0-3. Its like saying to a life long smoker chemo patient for lung cancer: "Have a cigarette, you'll feel better". You might for a bit, but long term it exasperates the problem. OKC took him as the cap fodder to move paul george and the plethera of assets that will be used long term. Just because CP3 is a vet its not automatic he is a Kidd type leader with coaching aspirations or will help the others. We have coaches for that. THats another story.

Lol. Knick fans are ready to throw a 21 year old that has played 8 minutes a game into the east river. Hate to see what they would do to a guy making $40M a year and shooting 33% with 5 turnovers against the Wiz. Fyi OKC is winless.
No thanks brah.

Unless we was do some "Mon-Stars" Space jam stuff were we can superinpose CP3's talent into Franks body then the answer is no.
I don't see why this is such an awful thing especially if we getting picks/talent back. 2020-21 FA is boot and the PG class in this draft isn't anything to write home about. We'd be getting a serviceable PG that will help us win games and more talent/picks to build around. Unless he has serious off court issues that would be detrimental to team? His injury history sucks but with the right package I think its worth it.
I say give it a solid month of games to see what newly recruits(Randle and Payton off limits) can do.
