I give FIzdale credit. If he coaches like this often we are gonna have a fun season because we have talent and depth. I really want the “experts” to eat a ton of crow

His first three were rough. He acknowledged it though and said he hadn’t been able to get into a rhythm. It would be nice if this starts a good run for him.
I've followed Portis for the last few seasons. He can fill it up regularly. That slump he was in was actually surprising for me. He isn't a 2 way player but he can score and rebound np
All these guys we added has that level of take over in their game. Thats why they were all pressing during the first 3 games.....Hopefully they can all relax now. Portis confidence will spread like fire, across all the PFs on the team.
Knox is still one of my best offensive potential on this team. Because he can stretch the floor, and do almost everything on the court. Reminds me of Melo's offensive skill set. I think thats a good ceiling for Knox. Lets hope his defense is better than Melo's. Today was a nice complete game for knox.

I guess it's funny if you're 9 years old or doped up. Or both. But not if you have someone developmentally delayed close to you.
I thought Fiz was good - felt the flow, right thing right time, not overdoing-
Helped that he didn't have to juggle 3 PGs - That's a tough spot for a coach- with those 3 guys-
Trier DNP quiet smart move in the context-
Be right back need to clean up an Orange and Blue Koolaid spill might take a while
We were THIRSTY
Good team D and nice kick out passing to Portis. Not sure if I saw an official "system" on offense, but I thought we moved the ball around well.
Frank's D was crazy...what we sometimes don't talk about is that even when he's not shutting someone down 1/1, he's a disrupting influence as opponents have to react to his ability to be all over the court. Hard to play D this hard for a full game, but in spurts, it can be a game changer.
He just has to be more confident on his jumper. Hopefully with more minutes he starts to look more like FIBA Frank.
Barrett, as some have said, is going to be a stud. I think he ends up at the 3, but we'll have to wait to see how he fills out and if he adds an inch.
Morant is a fine player...and Zion is explosive, but I think we might have gotten lucky with this guy. He is still a baby physically, but he's a confident SOB and a baller who can do a lot of things to help you win.
I know some are still upset with the KP thing, but Barrett dropping to us was similar in many ways...We're upset where we finished after the lottery, but we end up getting a superior player, anyway.
Trier DNP, I don't mind that
Man... dude isn't explosive but gets it done
newyorknewyork wrote:Frank's defense is crazy good man. He really shuts penetration DOWN. But he just don't get his shots to drop. Every shot he took was a good one though in the flow of the offense. He isn't a strong creater that will generate it though. But I was hoping guys like Randle and Barrett would cover that weakness. But he needs to get those shot to drop. But forget all that. OG Bobby Portis!!! as we call him in our fantasy bball league. I knew it was a matter of time. Guy gets buckets
Those shots will fall with more playing time. Technically he has not played a game since preseason ended you can’t count the last game of preseason either. You can’t count 2 minutes Spurs game and then 18 seconds in the Nets game as game time play.

Yep....said it when Phil drafted KP. said it again with RJ. I told people at work, and they thought I was crazy. Said this while RJ was in college. What if Zion wasn't the best player on his team? What if RJ Barrett becomes the best NBA pro? They said he takes too many wild shots. I was like...
If he has the confidence to take wild shots and finish games with Zion on his team, he's going to be a beast in the NBA. Glad Fiz is playing him veteran minutes. Keep it up and he could be ROY. But I'll be happy for even 3 best rookie. That just means Morant and Zion are that much better. Cause RJ is a beast right now. And he will feed on this pressure, like gasoline. I think the Garden and fans will actually make him better, along with his knicks history and vets like Morris. They all know the garden respects hard blue collar type players, and RJ fits right in.
Didn't watch the game - any reason Trier didn't play?

Was there any reason Ellington got a DNP the last gaame.

haven't had a chance to watch all games but have seen some video breakdowns.... Trier not a ball mover and his D sucks

I think since most of the new guys only play iso ball, it hurts triers game since hes the best iso player and Fiz is now preaching ball movement. Hopefully the new guys will learn to give Trier his space and let him go. But we simply have too many players....It's really that simple.

I think it's as simple as Trier needing to know when to hold the ball and do his thing and when not to. He doesn't right now.
And his D sucks. Did I say that before?
I did not see the game but the reports from you guys confirm that Ny played better when it mattered. They defended. Frank did not make a basket. That sucks BUT he played great D and ran the offense.
That has been my point all along. Concentrate on what he does well. His shot will come. It’s not like his form is god awful. It’s good actually. Let him play let him change the game with his D
One suggestion that I would have is to draw up a few plays specifically for Frank to get tot the basket for easy layups. Give him confidence early by running those plays and maybe just maybe it will translate later. The kid could be unreal but for his inability to make a consistent shot.... or 1
martin wrote:Man... dude isn't explosive but gets it done
His highlights are never that impressive to watch, but man he gets the job done!

Team offense is worse w him on court oddly
I think there’s hope for him on O and D. He’s clearly talented and athletic
Oddly it was just last year when fizz was publicly saying it was OK for tried to hold the ball. He was the exception

If not for injuries Frank doesn’t even play any significant minutes. The sad part is fans knew when our coach was driving home Perry’s agenda of ostracizing Phil’s draft picks. Far as I’m concerned Perry and Fizdale should be fired on the spot for their negligence.

Injuries happen. Frank lost a lot of time last year. Ebb and flow. DSjr and Trier will get their chances again. ITs a long season. Can’t keep firing GM’s and coaches every other year.
