While most of yiu ON this forum blame his brother..

The knicks treated KP like an average player they could replace with cap space..haha

One difference is obviously the reputation and direction of the organizations. The Mavericks have Luka Doncic, a recent history of success and clear path toward contention. The Knicks don’t really have a direction. Another difference is the incorporation of Porzingis’ physiotherapist, Manolo Valdivieso, a Spaniard who worked with the 7-3 forward at Real Madrid. The Knicks resisted hiring “Valdy” on their staff — which would seem a minor and easy accommodation — while the Mavericks now employ him as a full-time strength and conditioning coach. According to Rick Carlisle, the Mavericks found an asset beyond the relationship with Porzingis.

[

Casey Smith, the Mavericks’ director of player health and performance, told the Daily News that Valdy’s value started with his intimate knowledge of Porzingis’ ACL rehab and evolved into something more expansive.

“It’s just nice to have people with different backgrounds,” Smith said. “We all have similar experiences so having someone that’s been in international basketball and did some things like that has been a real plus for us.”

Smith agreed that Valdy’s presence helped with Porzingis’ transition to a new city and organization.

“I see guys when they get traded. You’re literally trying to learn 50 people’s names. Learn what the schedule is. Cause every team is different,” Smith said. “I’m sure especially as a younger guy without a bunch of family and stuff like that... I’m sure that helps him feel a little more comfortable.”

Following the trade, the Knicks privately pushed the idea that Porzingis’ older brother and agent, Janis, was a demanding nuisance. To quote a story in the wake of the blockbuster, “Janis wanted the kingdom.” If that’s the case in Dallas, though, it’s hard to fathom. Janis, according to a source, is living overseas and not even with KP in Dallas. Asked Tuesday if he’s experienced any intrusiveness from Porzingis’ brother, Carlisle said, “No. We’re thrilled to have KP here. We’re also really glad to have Valdy as part of our staff.”

During his three-plus seasons in New York, the Knicks fired Porzingis’ favorite assistant coach, Josh Longstaff, and traded his best friend on the team, Willy Hernangomez. There was a sense that Steve Mills and Scott Perry weren’t sold on Porzingis as their max-level star, which was validated when they pulled the trigger on a trade within two hours of the Latvian requesting a relocation.

So the Knicks didn't want to give him special treatment. Maybe that was dumb. But he's the thing; $hit hit the fan when the Knicks didn't want to facilitate a settlement with Porzingis' rape accuser. They referred her to Porzingis' personal legal team when she contacted the Knicks directly. If you look back at the timing, Porzingis distanced himself from the team around this event (although it wasn't leaked until he was traded.) Maybe it's possible that while these superstar requests were annoying and Knicks didn't really want to accommodate, the real issue that put them over the top were the rape allegations? Isn't it within their right to want to move on from that situation when trying to establish a new positive culture?

and Dallas doesnt think he is a #1 either! HE was brought to Dallas to be Luka's sidekick!! I am over KP.
arkrud @ 11/6/2019 9:12 PM
You need to have the common culture in organization.
Dallas is all into international culture. A strong European connection.
KP was from another world. Not good not bad, just different.
He will be just at home in Dallas.

Can’t predict he’s going to get into these messes though. He looked like a guy with a real good head on his shoulders capable of leading the team. Then started clubbing and had diva tendencies grow.

You think Requesting to have your trainer around is DIVA..

That's why the knicks don't have any stars now, they don't how to treat them, don't know how to build around them, and want everybody to be on their timeline,

Fiz came to the knicks with a decent Reputation, how's that looking now?

Scapegoat

It sounds like you support this nonsense.
This franchise is a few losses away from being a total embarrassment (not only the city) but the entire NBA..

judging from the 2 blowout losses to lowly teams missing key players, we're looking 1-12, and your running around talking the franchise is on the right track..

There's not to many knick fans like you

Bottom line, KP was a child when we drafted him and we were one of the most dysfunctional teams in the league. Both sides could've handled things better. The end.
MS @ 11/7/2019 2:15 PM
Look this organization is a fucking joke it has been for 20 years.

Who are you going to believe?

The organization that had inside sources that let them know they were getting Kyrie & KD? The same organization that wanted to control the narrative when they got iced and publically released a statement saying they never offered KD max money.

Stupid people, bad organization always need someone to take the blame for their failures.

We signed 4 power forwards this offseason, does this strike you as a team with any idea of what they are doing?

KP wanted to be here. We asked a rookie to get in the middle of a fight btw our GM and Melo to push the organizational narrative. Fact of the matter is you see how Melo was dragged through the mud, the media muzzling, the revolving coaching door, throwing Oakley out of the garden, banning a fan for wearing a t-shirt, their is a list 10 miles long as to why someone would not feel comfortable with the state of this team and direction of this franchise.

Why the fuck does Steve Mills still have a job is the more important question??

Why do you guys always give Perry a pass. He is part of the problem here. 4 freaking PFs giving contract to his former picks.
