According to Frank Isola of The Athletic, owner James Dolan is "plotting to take another run" at Ujiri, even if it takes "Phil Jackson-type money" to lure him away from the reigning NBA champions.

He's got to say stuff like that for the rubes up north. We know what talks in the end.

Wow! If I didn't know any better, I'd say this is what fear looks like. This and the face a cow makes when a hungry Lowry walks by.

Perry. Mills, and Fiz jobs are the most secure in pro sport.
No one in the whole world want this jobs...
Chandler @ 11/11/2019 6:40 PM
You think Toronto is the only place that knows how to throw a party when they win a championship?
djsunyc @ 11/11/2019 7:27 PM
but real talk - ujiri, imho, won't leave toronto for another team job. if/when he leaves, it's for bigger things.

he is 100% invested in africa and is doing whatever he can to help his country. if/when he leaves, i think it's to take over nba africa if that happens.

watch that whole video and you see he's about grander things.

he hangs with obama in the offseason - who did try to recruit him to the wizards job but he passed. so when the opportunity came, he turned down obama...so it only makes sense that he will decide to join up with a pillar in society like dolan :)

why would anyone worth anything want to work for dolan? the only time anyone did was when stern stepped in and got him to hire donnie walsh for 2010. then when that didn't work out, he quickly went back to his guy mills.

with all that said, saving the continent of africa may actually be an easier job than saving the knicks.

No way do I want to give up 1st rounders to hire him
CrushAlot @ 11/11/2019 9:04 PM
There might be something to it but it is Isola. He works for the Nets and Sirius now. Not sure how he would be the guy to break this.
Nalod @ 11/11/2019 9:21 PM
Controversy sells. I don't hate what Mills and Perry are doing, but I can't say Im happy after 10 games.
We been at this a long time here. Im not arguing the merrits of being patience vs. the anxiety/fear that this will never end.
Panos @ 11/11/2019 10:22 PM
Moving on to the next savior already?
fwk00 @ 11/12/2019 9:17 AM
Fake news.
jrodmc @ 11/12/2019 11:21 AM
This place might severely tarnish his rep. But what's he gonna top last season with?
Turning this dumpster fire around in short order would be magical.

He could then become NBA commish and save Africa with Dolan's money.

masai is also very vocal against trump so he's not gonna work for a guy that throws him fundraisers.
