And Randle has never been a good passer or dribbler, grabbing offensive-rebound and scoring on broken plays were Randle's handle.

He threw 2 balls DIRECTLY out of bounds last night.

I noticed when Smith is in, Smith handles the ball. Randle less so.

If that is Frank deferring (likely) then he MUST STOP and take the ball out of Randle's hands. If that is coaching then FIZ needs to change it.

I noticed that too. I thing Frank can't do is take his defender off the dribble. He needs a pick. In a couple of instances last night, he had Luka on a one-on-one situation and he couldn't beat him. Very telling. This to me just means you need your coach to give you some help, but no.

Frank needs to start demanding for picks for him. Stop deferring.

It was great watching the Knicks play hard for 48 minutes and get the W. Why did we look so much better against the Mavs, when we have trouble beating cellar dwellers? Motivation. They played hard and stayed focused.

Whatever flaws there might in the offense, when this squad is properly motivated, they look like a playoff team. DSJr definitely helped, but we beat the Mavs in Dallas without him. From playing KP, to Smith jr playing his old team, some players being from the Dallas area, this all gave the team added motivation.

Its on Fizdale and the players to bring the same intensity vs. other teams, when they play the rest of the league. Our other win was against the Bulls, Gibson and Portis being former Bulls players.

If Fizdale is replaced, believe it will be over the team's effort level, more than Xs and Os.

Frank is a unique player. He is an elite player. He is able to change and affect a game by something he does very well. Harden changes and affects a game via his offensive skills. What Frank did last night to Luka in the 4th quarter is special and this isn't the first time he has shown these skills. Now grow a pair and stop deferring to Randle and stop listening to Fizdale and call your own damn plays. This is the only thing stopping you from reaching your true potential.

All the heckling KP got was well deserved after forcing a trade, the cavs did it to lebron, Kawhi got it in San Antonio, Durant on his return to OKC . Super stars of today are soft what did you expect a standing ovation lol.

KP from all accounts is a cocky jack A S S who still has to work on the same flaws in his game he had when he entered the NBA . He still looks drained after 20 plus minutes still gets over matched physically from smaller defenders and is slow footed for faster PF’s .

Is he a incredible talent, Yes there is no denying that. That’s why we are upset he betrayed the organization.

Is ownership bad, yes. Steve Mills bad... maybe.... Scott Perry to early . that’s not going to stop die hard fans from bleeding Orange and Blue . Like my father before me and his father before him through the good bad and ugly we will always bleed orange and blue.

This team is in the middle of a major rebuild we have good young players in Barrett, Mitch, Randle, Frank, Knox, dsjr, dot, trier .

We have our 1st and the Mavs 1 st both potential lottery picks .

So what we lost out on Durant and Kyrie buying two injury prone stars would have been right out of the old knicks playbook. I’d rather develop and build a real bonded team through the draft and vets who really want to be here .

Just because the media blows everything out of proportion doesn’t mean the fans feel the same way. The only thing that really upsets me is when we don’t play hard I don’t care if we have the worst record in the NBA as long as the effort is there... in some of our blow out losses the effort wasn’t there.

Don’t just buy into what the ny sports media is spewing.

how about how the nets blew a big lead and are a disappointment at 4-7 but that won’t sell a paper , knicks disfunction sells just like seats to the worlds most famous arena will always sell over Brooklyn and the Barclays.

While Karl-Anthony Towns signed a five-year rookie scale contract extension that could pay him as much as $189 million, ESPN’s Ian Begley reports New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis will not sign his such extension before Monday’s 6 p.m. deadline. Instead, he will wait and become a restricted free agent next summer, where the Knicks can re-sign him or match another team’s offer sheet.

No, this is not a sign that Porzingis is disgruntled with the direction of the franchise. And no, it’s not an indication that New York wants to see how the 7-footer’s ACL recovers before committing boatloads of money to him.

It’s just a common salary cap trick that gives New York — and several other teams in similar positions — more flexibility heading into a pivotal 2019 NBA summer.
This is what the Knicks and Porzingis were supposed to do

Had Porzingis signed his rookie scale contract extension today, he would have been scheduled to make $27.25 million next summer and $158 million over five years. That amount would have been a haymaker to New York’s cap space to sign free agents and would have killed the Knicks’ odds at landing a max player in next year’s loaded class.
But by waiting until next summer, the Knicks save a chunk of cash they can use toward other free agents on the market.

Players coming off of the fourth year of their rookie contract who make less than the average NBA salary have a cap hold of 300 percent of the final year of their contract. A cap hold, in this instance, is an amount of money that counts against the team’s salary cap until it makes a decision on one of its free agents.
Porzingis will make $5.697 million in the 2018-19 season, so his cap hold will be three times that, or $17 million until he signs his extension next summer. He also will not lose any money by waiting until next summer to sign a contract: New York can and will still offer him his max contract of 25 percent of the projected $109 million salary cap,
There’s also the legalese behind it all. NBA collective bargaining agreement rules permit teams to exceed the salary cap in order to re-sign their own free agents. It’s the order of operations. The Knicks don’t actually have to sign to Porzingis’ max contract extension until they sign other players in free agency. It’s actually smarter to do it last.

Had they agreed to an extension today, Porzingis’ $27.25 million contract would have made it extremely difficult to fit another max contract onto the payroll. Instead, the Knicks have created an additional $10 million to sign free agents with. It gives New York enough room to sign a max player with 10-plus years of experience (yes, like Kevin Durant) to a contract with a first-year salary of $38 million while still retaining promising young players like Frank Ntilikina and Luke Kornet.

The Nets are expected to do the same
The only players who have signed rookie scale contract extensions this summer are Towns, Phoenix’s Devin Booker (five year, $158 million), and Miami’s Justise Winslow (three years, $39 million). Porzingis headlines a long list of players eligible to sign their own next summer.

Only one other team find themselves in the same unique position as New York. After the Pacers signed Myles Turner to a four-year, $80 million contract extension on Monday, the last remaining suspect is Brooklyn’s D’Angelo Russell, their purported point guard of the future who has to prove he’s ready to step into the big shoes.
Barring a wild series of events, both the Nets are expected to sign their young star to a long-term deal. A lot like New York and Kristaps Porzingis, Brooklyn is expected to wait until after they go after superstar free agents next summer to do it.

KP from all accounts is a cocky jack A S S who still has to work on the same flaws in his game he had when he entered the NBA . He still looks drained after 20 plus minutes still gets over matched physically from smaller defenders and is slow footed for faster PF’s .

Is he a incredible talent, Yes there is no denying that. That’s why we are upset he betrayed the organization.

So what we lost out on Durant and Kyrie buying two injury prone stars would have been right out of the old knicks playbook. I’d rather develop and build a real bonded team through the draft and vets who really want to be here .

Just because the media blows everything out of proportion doesn’t mean the fans feel the same way. Truth

I am a huge Morris fan (to the point that I hope he finishes his career with the Knicks) but if we are going to depend on his 3pt shooting to close out games, we are still in trouble.

KP hasn't looked good the last few games for Dallas but I still wish he was still a Knick.

Really hope the Knicks can build off of this. I still believe we have a good team and are one player away from playoff contention.
