Soon we complain about wins messing up our tankathon? LOL.The team will still be in 5 worth group so no worries here.
The performance of individual players, especially our property is paramount.
As organization we are not yet in the winning business. We are in assets accumulation and grows business.
Fiz was very slow in this department. Too slow to keep him around.
But money are spend so riding with Miller for the rest of expected Fiz contract makes a lot of sense.
Coming from GL he has only development coach credentials and this is what we need.
If he shows more and will became an all-around NBA coach we can adjust the situation as it develops.
Naturally I want a "turnaround miracle" of some sort. Short of that I hope he does well enough to not warrant his removal or that of Mills to the extent Knicks don't exasperate the situation by panicking as they have in the past.
I would even go so far to say that we exhibit improvement as desired that what ever Mills and Perry cooked up makes progress. Sorry rainman, I now you want a verified starphuch but fact is its better to have progress than hope. Rebuilding sucks. If you fire everyone every time you get a set back you get know where. This takes imagination, hope and faith. The faith part is not easy when Mills has been around as he has. Im not denying that. Im just saying since we are not doing it as we did in the isiah era as it was when Mills Was an MSG exec then I can't hold him accountable.
Just because knicks have not done well in the past drafting does not mean they can't going forward. If you know the odds are what they are but you need assets to make trades teams have little else. Nets did a nice turnaround with deep patience and staying flexible. Not freaking out.
Knicks have to stop panicking and freaking out when things go wrong. Be cool. At least act like you been here before. Stand up, tell the fans whats up and they might respect it.

sometimes adversity is unavoidable. Its what you do when it happens that matters.
Dolan or whom ever is making decisions needs to think it thru and not react. 10 game losing streak was not an over reaction. Im Ok with Fiz being let go.

there were a lot of dumb TOs, dribbling off his foot, steals etc. that aren't happening now.
This is important stuff. Consider Miller's first game (against the Pacer's) one extra possession with a decent shot and we could have won that game too
Woodson back in the day ran a bunch of iso, thinking it kept TOs down. There is some logic to that but you need the guys to protect the ball. Randle had problems with that
Way back in the very beginning of the year, I was pulling for this guy and hoping he would be our Nick Nurse
Having said that, that was wild hyperbole since i never saw him coach. I just was pulling for someone other than Fizz who was more coach than TV celebrity
He is pushing all the right buttons and surpassing any reasonable expectations I could have had
Here's a subtler point perhaps. When he talks about a game he almost always talks about the players and what they're actually doing and complimentary. He's in the present
Fizz spent a lot of time talking about how he was going to mold or fix a player, and imagine if he can do this or that; e.g., imagine KK at Sg and how long our team would be
then fizz would insist the players do things they're not best at: frank pretend your rose; DSJ pretend you're ray allen; Randle pretend your Lebron
Miller puts the guys in positions where they can best contribute -- at least IMO
I also think he is being true to his word in saying he will run three guards, and hope he can resuscitate the attack in DSJ's game.
Of course you want your players to develop their weaknesses. The issue is how. In my mind you build off your strength. SO DSJ should attack. If he's good, the opponent will sag off him making his chance a jumper he can hit better. Taking the attack out of his game and asking him to shoot 30' bombs results in the horrible shooting %
Vice versa for KK. Have him shoot the deep ball. If he's hitting it, the guys will place closer, and then he can drive with his long strides and gargantuan feet

Who would have thought this season we'd be reading posts comparing even brief moments where Knox looks like he's doing a Giannis impression? Hopefully Miller's not telling Knox "pretend you're a Greek Freak"
