Something doesn't jive with your confirmation bias? Ignore it!KP was 3 for 17 last night.
0 for 5 from 3pt
Had 4 turnovers
Didn't even manage a single double (9pts 8rebs)
Put your biases away.
Agreed. Pretty dumb to use ONE game to build a narrative on the worth of a player.
Bias aside.....
7'3" KP is averaging, close to a double double, 19.4 and 9.4 while shooting 47% from the field in his first full year back from major knee surgery. (The one many claimed would end his career). All at the young age of 24.
But some are debating the thread title?
But some make definitive statements before the trade is anywhere close to played out?
I'll repeat -- KP, very talented, so far injury prone player who is a dickwad from a family of dickwads. But since we're pulling out current stats, I juxtapose the sweet love given to KP vs the ongoing hate for Julius Randle:
19.3 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 45.7 fg% His 3 point percentage is lower but assists higher. Randle is about 9 months older and has played in about 150 more games.. KP plays on a much better team. My point? Highly comparable stats with some differences, but one player gets tear stained valentines while the other doesn't get his phone calls taken.

Randle is 19.3 and 9.8 rebs. KP 19.4 and 9.4 rebs. Randle Turnvovers a career high at 3. KP at 1.6.
Randle don't take nights off.
Randle shoots 46%. I wish he shot better than 29% vs. KP's 35%. Randle shoots 51% from 2pt vs. KP 47%. KP a much better shot blocker 2vs .03
add Randle back into the trade for KP and matters.
Nalod not happy that trade happend. But it did and its not unhappening! Randle is not the reason why this team only won 20 games. Think of a world were KP is on this team, firing way, b-lining it to unrestricted Free agency and leverage at trade deadline not ours.

While I agree with your overall point. KP is shooting 42% from the field and is a career 43% shooter. But as Gordan Hayward showed KP could fully recover and have a strong yr next yr after a full season. Time will tell how his story unfolds, he can land anywhere from being an injury prone player to a Steph like development after seasoning over the yrs to become an MVP type. Probably lands somehwere in the middle.
Fingers crossed Dallas lands us at least one lotto picks, but Doncic doesn't seem like he will let that happen.
Will be interesting to see him in playoff intensity/7 game series.
Will be interesting to see him in the playoffs, period.

lol You just compared KP to Randle...
It's the same as comparing a Ferrari (KP) to some shitty city car that can't get you to your destination (rings)

What does Randle have to do with the trade or thread topic?
Did I mention Randle?
Dickwad is an opinion based on what? Did not see that on any of the stat sites.

Capspace was used in part to sign Randle.

Would KP and the Knicks (minus Randle) have made the playoffs this year in the EAST?

Think if we take many young talented players with high potential and included them in your question, the answer will be NO. But that does not change the premise that it was a bad trade for the Knicks and yet another one of their many screw ups in the last 20 years.

Remember though Hardaway an Clee might be in the mix somehow.
No Portis or Randle likely.
I doubt we make playoffs. Question is does KP walk after the season?
Can we just put a sticky thread up top that says 'yes, KP is the greatest player ever, and the Knicks got hosed' so that all this kvetching can end? It's a dead issue, buried, over. KP is gone and we're moving on.

But it was the worst trade in the league history ! When life gives you lemons you make ... why, you make single malt whisky of course. Oh wait that's not how it goes. You make craft beer ! Nope , that's not it either. At least lets all complain about the failure of the front office to create a better beverage. How dare they make lemonade!!!
Yo, yo, yo- where's the KP thread at?
Last nights stats: FG 4-15 (1-8 from three)
We need some sort of algorithm on the board that automatically bumps both this thread and all the Frankie-"let's all jerk off, he had a great game" threads...

martin, honestly, this place is truly great. 20 win seasons and we can still have fun!
smackeddog wrote:Yo, yo, yo- where's the KP thread at?Last nights stats: FG 4-15 (1-8 from three)
The Zinger is putting up just 9-points and 3-bigappleturnovers on 7-32 fg and 1-13 3fg in his last two games.

Barely relevant. We got more than one player from the deal.

Not sure about a circle jerk effect but a mathematical index. Have to apply value to the picks, value to the cap space (assign Randles production??)and of course DSjr......
Vs. KP, Hardaway, and CLee. Then the % of production they had on there team, +- as well. Then create the index.
Nets beat Lakers last night IN LA. That's some funny stuff right there!! That must deflate Atkinson's value?
