The Knicks still have athletic shot-blocking power forward Kenny Wooten, currently with G-League Westchester, on their radar for a future “call-up,’’ but would need to make room on their roster. That is why Jan. 15 is an intriguing date. Once that date passes, the Knicks can’t finagle with their two-way contract players, Ivan Rabb and Kadeem Allen.

For instance, the Knicks must cut Rabb by Jan. 15 or they can’t replace him. Wooten would be an ideal candidate to inherit the two-way deal. Two-way players have a 45-day limit with the parent club until the G-League season ends.

Bouncy 6'8" shooting 58% FT.

Dude has athletism that is out of this world and just has to learn a few fundamentals to crack a rotation and then a few more to earn millions.

Set a pick, learn some team and individual defense, make a 15" jump shot, keep away from the hookers and strippers.

the strippers and hookers?

Have ten day contracts started? If Wooten would sign a two wayI think you waive Rabb. I love Kadeem. I think he will be the back up in a point guard rotation as soon as he gets an opportunity.

I really like Lamar Peters. Don't really care about Wooten or Rabb. Wooten seems like a less skilled Kenny Sky Walker.

nothing about wooten says nba. in the old days he’d have nothing but playgrounds and ymca’s ahead of him. at least now he’s got overseas cash to look forward to.

Wooten can help the second half tank with purpose. Wooten a smaller Mitch?

That's Wooten in a nutshell. He could be Kenyon Martin or the Manimal... he just needs to actually show basketball skill not just freaky hops and athleticism

Heard a podcast with the guy that runs Ridiculous Upside right before the holidays. His take was that Wooten has an nba transferable skill and will be picked up by a team if the Knicks don't sign him. From what I remember, he thought Wooten had higher upside then Rabb. I have only watched a few minutes of W-Knicks highlights this year so I don't have an informed opinion about where the Knicks should go here. Wooten is an athletic freak.

The weird part for me is that his stats are pedestrian outside of blocks. Usually guys that are NBA worthy are blowing away GLeague competition and their stats really pop

Does anyone watch Gleague games and laid eyes on him?

I haven’t this year. I don’t seem to have enough time to watch the nba anymore. I catch up on podcast because I have a long commute.

Just watched a clip of Wooten's last game, wow. Very athletic, can see why teams are interested. Dont know much about his game though.
blkexec @ 1/12/2020 6:25 PM
Knicks would be dumb not to add this dude. Wooten is exactly what this team is missing. Hes a live body above the rim type player that csn impact a game, with pure athleticism. NO BRAINER
