Never understood how and why analytics people insist that posting up a lot is not good. If you are good at it, you might not score the field goal but you are drawing help defenders in towards you, which helps kicking the ball out for a 3 easier which also gives our guards a better chance to get an offensive rebound in case the 3 is missed. Or, the post up man misses his shot and their is a close by rebound by the defense, and the offense has a lesser chance to get a fast break because the previous defenders were all drawn in. It’s silliness.

With that said, todays NBA requires great 3 point shooters from all positions and that simply can’t be ignored. Why shy away from the post entirely though? We need some of these retired big men to coach at some level. It’s become a lost art that we may never get back.
