Knicks · Yes it’s early but here’s the 2020 NBA draft thread. (page 41)

Also, he needs to develop his body and tweak his shooting form. And his defense needs work. That said, he's someone to target in the second round. He has the physical tools to be a success in this league.
He's very intriguing. 6'10 wing that can handle like a guard and create for himself. Like you said he has all the tools but needs tons of seasoning, coaching and developing. I doubt he will be there at 27, but if he is, the Knicks might need to swing for the fences and bet that this coaching staff and unlock his untapped potential. He has the tools to be a top 5 player in this draft!

Interesting vid on Grant Riler. Doesn't go into his defense, but does a good job of showing his shooting chops. Someone to consider at 27.

DET has been locking into one of the PG's: Haliburton, Hayes, Lewis Jr, and Anthony. There is interest in Ball but I was told the cost is too high for DET. NY has been clear with anyone who will listen that they will not trade a future 1st outside of Dallas. They are also shopping Julius Randle and trying to gain a future asset. I was told they are looking at Horford along with Charlotte. They do not want Randle and would love to trade him and gain an asset.
He post a lot on the Hawks board and is highly regarded, but I don't know how legit he is as I only ever have a peak there at the trade deadline. He was on the Capella trade, Ir remember that. I'll share the link to his thread this one time, do keep it on the down low though as they've already restricted access to the thread in case it was sensitive info (people were posting some stuff on realm boards) and only recently lifted the restrictions. Like I said, no idea how accurate he is, but it's interesting to read the speculation:

First signs of intelligent life in Knicks' universe in a while. The skinny on Randle in the past was low BBIQ; comes here and everyone is surprised to see he has low BBIQ

Whoever we get needs to be able to.. dribble shoot pass
We had a dribble shoot guy...Trier...didn't succeed here. We had a shoot and pass guy...Novak...didn't succeed here.. We have a dribble pass guy...Frank....riding the bench and if he continues to hesitate and shoot bricks or slow release...he will continue to be benched.
And out of all those...shooting is the number 1 priority for whoever we draft...in both rounds.

This really changed my opinion on a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Especially when next year’s draft has fantastic SF in it as well, so he might not be the best guy at that position next year either.
REAL F’ing SECURE!
1. It’s a wing league.
2. We’re trading for Chris Paul
3. RJ ends up being our pg of the future

REAL F’ing SECURE!
1. It’s a wing league.
2. We’re trading for Chris Paul
3. RJ ends up being our pg of the future
1. It's a superstar Wing league
2. The Bucks are trading for Chris Paul. All the forces seems behind that trade
3. Fizdale tried that..... It didn't go so well

1. It is a wing league. A lot of teams are playing with 4 SG/SFs on the court at the same time
2. Bucks have to match Paul’s contract. OKC can trade Paul to the knicks just for draft picks this saving them $80 million. Seems like a pretty obvious decision
3. RJ is a point forward. Get used to it

1. It's a copycat league; hopefully we can find weaknesses in the current wing-heavy rotations and exploit
2. Chris Paul makes very little sense for us, for him, or for the league, so don't see it happening
3. RJ will have a breakout year staying on the wing (with the Frank-n-Mitch pick-n-roll becoming a thing of beauty)

1. Ok but do those teams not have any PGs? because we got wings in Knox, Frank, and RJ...... PGs is the issues
2. Bucks can match the contract (B. Lopez, Bledsoe, and George) and can use even their late picks to move those guys for other assets as well.
3. The bucks and Philly getting involved made what was a buysrs market into a seller market. No way they just take draft picks. Not unless we offered our own which should be lottery bound again next year.

A way bigger issue than PG is shooting. Knicks had one player last season shoot higher than league average from 3

Lol thunder ain't getting Lopez, they are tied to Adams already. Bledsoe has 3 years on his deal and is a little older for the timeline of Shai.

And out of all those...shooting is the number 1 priority for whoever we draft...in both rounds.
If we are indeed committing to RJ, mitch and to some extent taking a hard look at Frank then nesmith must be the pick over vessell.
