How could they NOT trade him? We’re not building anything this season - we have the 4th worst record in the whole league! Why not trade him for a 1st rounder and then have a handshake agreement to sign him in the offseason? He’s probably happy too because he gets to play in the playoffs.
Well what if we had coach Miller all season (with his own training camp) instead of Fizdale and his failosophies. Do you think this is still the 4th worst roster?
I think we'd have at least 20 wins if Miller was coach all along. 9th seed with a chance at making the playoffs.

Not sure how that’s the least bit relevant. The point is that we’re not making the playoffs so why not get something for Morris and and bring him back next year? The added benefit is it also opens up playing time for the younger guys (and I hate to say it but we’ll lose more games and get a better draft pick).
Our “inept” FO had a long run plan. The yoot are making strides. Not saying keep them all, but their values are trending better.
Dennis looks good. Fans a few weeks ago wanted to dump him for nada or exile to Gleague. The kid is looking better.
Part of me wants to deal, but part of me has rooted for the rebuild and doubled down on patience.
Nice Yoots game. Odd to bring in Frank off bench in second ahead of DSJr. Some serious nice play by Frank in 4th and OT though

I guess where we part ways is where you say its a given we can re-sign him after trading him to a better team. You're willing to risk that we lose him and be paid for that risk with a first round pick. I say he is worth more than that.

He’s a FA either way (not a given we keep him if he stays). If we want to keep him, then make a handshake agreement that we’ll sign him in the offseason. He’ll probably appreciate it that he gets to play for a contender in the playoffs.
Can’t give Morris away for so little. With a good coach to start the season and a more balanced roster we can improve. Moving Morris would set us back yet again.

I'd be with you if Morris didn't just go back on a handshake agreement with San Antonio.
Question: Can we re-sign Morris before free agency starts? Or are we in the same boat as every other team?

.
If you heard Millers press conference tonight you would know how important Morris is to the development of the young guys and how they feel about him on and off the court.
There no way on in hell the knicks trade him, especially after what I heard tonight

Can only extend a player mid season who has been with team for 3 years or more

Thanks, that's kinda dumb rule IMO. We sign a guy and then don't get any advantage if we want to keep him.

True!
I just wish he was 25 and not 30...
Is the game plan to get Mitch 2 shots per game- he's had that the last 3 games- maddening

I didn’t watch the game last night but I suspect teams have caught up with Mitch and are playing him for the loon and pick and roll.

Yup.
Perhaps Mitch can cure this low shot problem on his own and, you know, shoot the ball.

They started bumping him on his run and letting the ball handler take the shot. This is ok. The ball handlers need to make them pay.
I do want Mitch to start looking to shoot when he gets the ball on top of the key. He is always wide open.
